Great little earbuds

Over time they felt like I wasn’t wearing them at all. Yet the volume levels were not sufficient and very low. For example phone calls at work were hard to hear. Over if Sony could boost the volume a little bit these would be a great AirPods contender.

If the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain proper sound quality or volume. Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. In addition to adjusting the volume on the connected device, when the volume adjustment function is assigned to the headset with the “Sony | Headphones Connect” app, you can adjust the volume on the headset during music playback or while talking.

While we're happy you like the open-ring design and audio quality, we're sorry to know if the available operating time is short or the battery power does not last long. If you set the following functions, the available operating time of the battery becomes short.
• Equalizer
• DSEE
• Speak-to-Chat
• Function to launch the voice assist function by your voice
• Service Link
• Sound quality mode during Bluetooth playback: Priority on sound quality
If you run the above settings at the same time, the available operating time of the battery becomes even shorter.
Note: Be sure to store the headphones in the charging case after use. If the headphones are placed in a pocket or bag, they may recognize that they are being worn and turn on by mistake.

Almost a good idea but a miss

I'd have returned them but the 15 day return period was too short, I was still on vacation trying them out. I keep using them because they were too expensive to just put away/pass on. If the fit isn't just right, they fall our and/or make my ears hurt after awhile. When they work right, they are decent but recently the bluetooth has been cutting out when I move my head around, big problem. Also the control taps are very limited and are inconsistent between functions (play/pause on a podcast are a different control than hanging/up answer on a call, sometimes they do new things when I tap them). Volume adjustment barely changes and sometimes doesn't do anything at all. Disappointed in this Sony product and bummed out that BestBuy shortened their return policy, I'd rather have returned them and gone back to the the Shokz/Aftershokz that I know work well.

Nice concept but missing basic function

The sound is good enough for what I would mainly use them for which is taking calls with light music listening. Unfortunately a big issue for me was they didn't notify me when I received calls???? My phone is on silent 100% of the time and so I heavily rely on my ear pieces to notify me when I receive a call and or message. Now I know since I have an Iphone that the only devices that can advise me of messages will be either Beats or Airpod devices which I am fine with. But to not even hear a ring tone, not even a generic ring tone will not due and makes the LinkBuds unusable for me. I don't have any problems with Samsungs, Bose, most Soundcores, or JayBirds. All of them give me a ring tone and most of them give me the ring tone I have for certain callers. I really do like how these feel and the open back concept as they feel like I don't have them in my ears. Very nice concept.

This is definitely not the experience we want you to have. If no ring tone is heard via the headset, the headset may not be connected with the smartphone or mobile phone over HFP (Hands-free Profile) or HSP (Headset Profile). Please check the connection status on the smartphone or mobile phone. You may also try using different smartphones to isolate the problem.
When receiving a call by operating smartphones or mobile phones, some smartphones or mobile phones receive a call with the phone instead of the headset. With an HFP connection, switch the call to the headset by tapping the left or right unit of the headset or in the area near your ear 3 times quickly (with an interval of about 0.2 seconds) or by using your smartphone or mobile phone.

Thank you for the review. If the headset is out of your ears, you feel uncomfortable when wearing the headset or your ears hurt.
M-sized fitting supporters come attached to the left and right units of the headset at the time of purchase. When the headset is worn following the procedures described above and you feel the size of the fitting supporters does not fit your ears, change the fitting supporters to another size to comfortably and snugly fit your left and right ears.

The app sony has for phones are not on Microsoft store for pc. Cant find it anywhere! I also have seen some people saying there is a sony app for pc that cost like $5 and doesnt work with the majority of sony headphones or earbuds. I mean really sony? You are that greedy that you can make your Bluetooth accessible for all Bluetooth devices?!?!?! Absolutely disgusting and sad that an expensive earbud with BLUETOOTH cant connect to windows 11 on my laptop because sony says so! Like what about college students that want a perfect earbud like this where they can listen to music or play games but still hear their surroundings and people if they need to? You would have hit it out of the park, but unfortunately you dropped the ball! Maybe you can put out an update to allow your customers to connect to their pc for FREE and maybe DO THE RIGHT THING BY YOU CUSTOMERS!

Best Earbuds Ever

Having something stick into your ear canal is so uncomfortable I had written off ever moving on from my normal noise cancelling Sony 1000XM3s. Then I saw these passive earbuds and I decided to give them a chance. They are amazingly comfortable and with the summer coming I am very happy to finally have earbuds to wear during heat waves instead of the aforementioned XM3s. Not only are they comfortable but features like automatically pausing when you speak and being able to tap your face to control them just sweeten the pot. A minor gripe is that I wish the bluetooth signal range was more stable. If your phone is in your pocket though you should be fine in all situations. I couldn't recommend these linkbuds with anymore vigor. I was very skeptical, but they are simply incredible.

Good sound but not a great fit for me.

The sound is fed directly to the ear and has minimal outside exposure. The LinkBuds may fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.
• As a suggestion, to reduce discomfort while wearing the headset, try to change the fitting supporters to another size that fits your ears better and feel more comfortable. The size of the left and right fitting supporters may be different.
We recommend starting with the larger sizes and working your way down to the smaller sizes until you find the best fit.
• Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears.

The empty circle helps to hear ambiance noise including talking, which is the main reason I believe. However, the tapping feature is so sensitive it activates sometimes with a Jaw movement. I have really strangely shaped ears, so finding buds that fit well is already a challenge with in ears then you adding on ear buds and you double the difficulty. I could never use AirPods, even the pros, pixel buds fit okay, but these, these fit almost as good as my custom one (comfort wise obviously not seal). They do take a little fiddling to get just right, but they almost disappear when you do. Mileage will vary, I’ve got strange ear, maybe normal ears will have issues, but if you’ve been on the fence, try them! They sound great too better than my pixel pros!

good if they work, impossible to find

That is these headphones. You know what they failed on? The case doesn’t need to be as small as the headphones for crying out loud it gets lost when you blink your eyes I loved these headphones so much. I recommended them to my roommate who also went out and got some two days later, she couldn’t find the case you know where I found them? On the lawn three months later when I was mowing it and by chance, my foot hit it, and I went down to pick up a rock to get it away from the lawnmower blade and realized it was her headphone case but you know it was awesome? They still worked even though we live in the Pacific Northwest and it had probably been rained on over 80 times it still worked four days later she lost the case again we’ve never seen it since….. oh and I almost forgot. I returned mine a few days later because they broke for no reason they just stopped working made a fuzzy noise fizzled out never worked again, but that doesn’t change the fact that my roommates pair was awesome.

Sony is taking initiative

To be able to still hear everything around you and still have good sound quality. I like wearing these at work bc I can enjoy music and if some calls me and needs my assistance I can still hear them. Now the only thing is that they aren't noise cancelling. Which in some environments I wish it was sometimes but it isn't a deal breaker. The fitting of the wireless buds is a good fit; they are actually the only wireless buds that don't fall out of my ears when I'm running around or working out.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought theses and after two week of use they would not hold a charge for more than an hour. The sound quality was good and did not hurt my ears.

Allow us to help you and turn your experience around. You can enjoy a full working day of charge – 5.5 hours – from your headphones and store another 12 hours in the case.
For available operating time of the unit, depending on the settings for the headset functions and usage conditions, the speed of energy consumption for the rechargeable battery may vary between the left and right units. However, this is not a malfunction.
