These buds are lighter than the Airpods 3. The lack of wireless charging is a bummer, but other aspects like fast pairing on Android make up for minor missing features. Grab these on sale if you’re interested in a light set of earbuds.

      Hi soupvr,

Awesome! We are so happy to know your satisfaction with the very lightweight design and fast Bluetooth pairing feature of our LinkBuds. We truly appreciate your input with the wireless charging function, and we are sorry if the supplied case of these headphones doesn't support wireless chargers. A rechargeable battery is built into the charging case. If you charge the charging case in advance, it can charge the LinkBuds wirelessly.

With LinkBuds, you are always connected with your everyday life. Comfortably wear them around the clock as you hear sounds around you transparently, feeling nothing on your ear, while you remain in touch with people and places, without ever having to pause your personal soundtrack. LinkBuds bridge your daily life and the entertainment you love, wherever you go, whatever you do.

Thank you for recommending our LinkBuds and for choosing Sony!

After spending time with the Link Buds, I now realize that these buds are just not worth Sony's asking price of 179.99+. I would price these at around 70-100 USD. Battery life on these is just way too short at 5.5 hours according to Sony's best-case scenario, meaning volume stays below 50% and the buds' extra features are turned off. Doing that will defeat the purpose of wearing these. When used with volume above 50% which is mostly a necessity given the openness of the earbuds and all features turned on, you're looking at a maximum of 2-3 hours! So, for something touted as all day wear buds, I spent most of my time minimizing usage and turning off features because of the extremely short battery life. The Sony Link buds also lack features common for earbuds in this price range like wireless charging and multi point connection, etc. The Link buds are also very cheaply made, more so the case. The one redeeming factor of the Link buds is call quality! The call quality is some of the best in the business. The Sony Link buds would have been ideal for those who work in a relatively quiet work environment who maybe do say conference calling, etc. but also needs to be aware of their surroundings. Unfortunately, the battery life on these is so abysmal the Sony Link buds are not even ideal for that. I do see potential for future iterations, but Sony needs to do some tweaking.

      Hi Eb0ny1,

      Thank you for your review.

While we are pleased you are satisfied with the outstanding call quality feature of our WF-L900 LinkBuds, we are so sorry if its available operating time did not live up to your expectations. We are also sorry if some features like the wireless charging and multipoint connection are not available to these LinkBuds. Your feedback with the price and build quality are greatly appreciated.

For the battery life, the available operating times of the headset with the battery fully charged are as follows:
      • Bluetooth connection
Music playback time (AAC): Max. 5.5 hours
Music playback time (SBC): Max. 5 hours
      • About 90 minutes of music playback is possible after 10 minutes charging.
      • If you set the following functions, the available operating time of the battery becomes shorter than the ones described above.
      - DSEE™
      - Equalizer
      - Speak-to-Chat
      - Function to launch the voice assist function by your voice
      - Service Link
      - Adaptive Volume Control

      Notes:
      • If you run the above settings at the same time, the available operating time of the battery becomes even shorter.
      • Depending on the settings for the headset functions and usage conditions, the speed of energy consumption for the rechargeable battery may vary between the left and right units. However, this is not a malfunction.
      • When you have finished using the headset, be sure to set the headset in the charging case. If the headset is placed in the pockets, etc., the headset recognizes that the headset is worn, and it may turn on by mistake.
      • Be sure to close the lid of the charging case to prevent the battery of the charging case from being consumed.
      • When talking on the phone, the available operating time of the battery is shorter than when playing music.

I love these wireless headphones. One disclaimer, you need to take time to adjust them to your ear and familiarize yourself a little bit how to fit them. If you want to disappear into your own bubble, and listen to your favorite music, those headphones are not for you. But if you want to listen to music in good quality, hear a podcast or make a phone, call and also be able to know what’s happening around you, these headphones do as a trick. It’s almost like listening to music from speakers, and be able to follow the conversation next to you.

Sony, the has been king of technology trying desperately to stay relevant in the age of quality affordable electronics. I had been looking at these for a few weeks and thought they looked intriguing and watched reviews online and after only 5 hours of owning these I came to 1 conclusion, the reviewers were obviously paid and never actually used them. The upsides, -the gimmicky hole allows you to hear things around you while listening to music of making a phone call. -tapping on your cheek to pause music or answer calls is weird but kind of fun purely because nobody else has that The Downsides, -it's one size fits all/a small handful of people. -The tiny silicone loop does NOT hold them in your ear securely, didnt mater which size I tried they just fell out within a few minutes. -The projected 5.5 hour battery life translated to barely over 3 hours when listening to music at low volumes. -The sound quality is literally better on a pair of $20 ear buds I have from Plantronics. The highs are super tinny, the mids are almost non existent and the bass just flat out doesn't exist, period! -The disk area that the sound is obviously pumped through is made out of a hard plastic and is only 1 size, there is NO give so if your ear is not that 1 extremely specific size they hurt, a LOT, to much that it is physically painful for them to be worn longer then a few minutes so I guess it's a good thing that the silicone loop fails at keeping them secure. -And for the price the charge case doesn't have wireless charging? Seriously, $20 and even $40 headphones are better then these. Asking $200 for these is ludicrous and borderline insane. Pretty much the only thing that gives these any value is the Sony logo on them. Owned for 1 day and went back to my Anker Soundcore Liberty 2 earbuds, they are sizeable, comfortable, stay put, last around 8 hours on 1 charge outside of the case, the case can recharge them about 10 times before needing to recharge, the case has wireless charging and the sound is better than pretty much everything out there and they cost about $50. You're welcome.

I don't typically like the earbuds as they fall out of my ear constantly, but something compelled me to give these a try. They feel great, they sound great, they look great! They have a wide range of settings that can accommodate any personal preference as far as ease of use is concerned. By double tapping you can end calls, single tap you can start music. You can adjust the number of taps to which ever setting you enjoy. They have not once fell out of my ear. They fit perfect. I like the music pause when you start speaking, great feature that prevents me from having to take my phone out and pause it manually. Be weary though if you're around a lot of people who like to talk as it'll be pausing on the start of your every word lol. I'd definitely recommend these. Oh and i get a few guys out of the battery(active) and a bit more then a day from it(non active). I usually charge it every two days just to keep from being out and it going dead on me. Charging case charges it pretty quickly

I WANT TO LOVE THESE. They’re unique! Comfort is a 10/10. I could wear them all day if I wanted to. You don’t buy them for sound quality, music fanatics should get something else, but everything is CLEAR. Phone calls were a big rating factor me. There’s not a lot of wireless headphones on the market that can support phone calls with clarity on BOTH ends. I was pleasantly surprised how little background noise they pick up and how clear people can hear me while on calls. I will say that they need a second version. Something gets knocked loose in the hardware and it creates static in the ear. I hope Sony does more with this concept!

Hi TatianaR, we're glad you love our product. We understand your feedback regarding the static on your Sony unit. If you use the headset when the air is dry, you may experience discomfort due to static electricity accumulated on your body. This is not a malfunction of the headset. You can reduce the effect by wearing clothes made of natural materials that do not easily generate static electricity. Please check this link for more details:

I was intrigued by this for a year. It went on sale to a price I thought "ok I'm going to risk it". Glad I did. I get frustrated with the sweaty silicone feel from my AirPods Pro (which I love) after a little while listening and I can't always wear full on headphones. These are the most comfortable things to wear, I can leave them in a long time and simply don't notice them. Double tap cheek near my ear stops and continues playback easily works well. Simply tap to pause and have a conversation then resume- works fantastic. I worry about not hearing traffic while out walking for exercise so I don't usually listen to anything but I really wanted to start studying Spanish on my walks with audio podcasts, and I can tell you this works perfectly. My first walk the right ear kept falling out, but the left was fine, weird but I just replaced the right loop thing with the large size one and perfect! No more problems since that minor adjustment and it wasn't hard to figure out and try the different size. As to music quality, stereo imaging is great, but it may not be the fullest or warmest sound. I do notice substantial changes to tone when simply pressing a little on an earpiece, I think the exact positioning greatly affects the sound quality for music. There is eq and stuff in the app I haven't messed with yet. I'm not wearing these to engage in a high quality listening session, I have other tools for that, these are comfort and convenience and the musical soundstage is very open as you would expect from open backs and in my opinion perfectly good to listen to. Spoken word podcast or audiobook is perfect on these. I am really glad I took a chance on these, I hope Sony keeps making this product or continues with this concept. I haven't received anything for this review, I just want them to keep making the product. Try it, I found it completely worth it and really fits several use cases for me better than anything else out there.

These headphones are a very strange design choice for Sony. As a result, I had to buy them to see how they worked. There are interesting features (such as the tapping controls), but these things just aren’t staying in my ear. When they finally did find their place in my ear, they didn’t give me the full sound you’d expect from other headphones with a more traditional design. I headed home wearing these, and they immediately fell out of my ears and onto the ground on my way to the front door. I knew it was over from there. No matter what size you adjust them to they never feel right. They’re actually quite comfortable otherwise, but what’s the use if you could have these things fall out and not even notice?

These little buds have been absolutely fantastic!!! I have a very hard time finding earbuds that will stay in my ears and these have fit the bill nicely! Pros: Recycled plastic is soft touch and contributes to the super lightweight feel. Sound is very very good, and surprisingly clear for such an odd shape. Very little sound blockage which is a must (why else would you buy these?) Charge time is incredibly quick with a decent time allowance for a few minutes of charging. The earbuds physically clip into the case along with small magnets which is much better than just magnets alone. The tap functions are so much easier than physical or capacitive buttons on the buds themselves, keeping the original fit in place and saving your ears from jamming buds into them. Cons (software only, hardware is excellent): The speech recognition function does not seem particularly useful and will pause the music even if you are only humming along, great idea but seems hard to manage. I have had the buds pause music and videos when i am chewing crunchy foods like crackers or chips, the earbuds are registering the vibrations from that as well so a sensitivity slider would be really nice in the settings! I would recommend that Sony also note that tapping behind your ears for the accessibility functions works just as well, if not better than in front of your ears, especially if you, like me, need to wear glasses and a mask all day long, getting in the way. I'd absolutely recommend these to anybody who likes some background music in their day, without the hassle of fake passthrough audio draining your battery even faster. These things can get very loud so be careful if you're in a loud environment, you could be pumping way more sound than you're normally comfortable with. This is a sound addition, not replacement. I absolutely love these and have worn then for a good 20 hours at least with zero issues, you'll forget theyre even there!

If the headset is not worn properly in your ears, you may not obtain proper sound quality or volume. As a suggestion, if you feel that there is a difference in volume levels between the left and right sides, change the fitting supporters to another size that fits your ears better and feel more comfortable. The size of the left and right fitting supporters may be different.

The LinkBuds provide crystal clear calls with our Precise Voice Pickup technology. Sony’s V1 Processor provides a well-balanced and high-quality sound for an authentic listening experience. The LinkBuds feature an IPX4 splash-proof and sweat-proof design, Adaptive Volume Control adjusting the volume to the environment around you and a battery life is 5.5 hours and up to 17.5 hours with the charging case. The Ultra-small and light design gives you the ability to listen to music, take calls and game all while still connecting with the world around you. Great product. A little difficult to make sure you get it in your ear properly but once it is in your ear it pretty much stays there. Battery life should be longer. Sound is clear and Bass to high treble has excellent range.

They sounded as good, or better than I expected. The area touch feature was very cool. However, they fell out of my ears too easily. One fell in the toilet the day after purchase. I called Sony expecting it to cost maybe $60 - $80 for a replacement left LinkBud. Nope, they wanted $125, so I went back to BestBuy and bought Samsung Earbud Pros. That's not a great way to treat customers Sony. I've have spent a lot of money on Sony products like cameras, TVs, PlayStations, etc, but I'll think twice the next time I consider Sony.

Hi JoeC, We regret to hear about your experience with your LinkBuds wireless stereo headset. As it turns out, the warranty does not cover the cost of replacing lost or damaged items. Both earbuds and the charging case are pre-set with information that allows them to communicate to and from each other. These settings can only be configured at an Authorized Service Center with all three components present. For this reason, you can't simply replace one missing part. If you still want to obtain the missing piece, send the remaining items to an Authorized Service Center so that a replacement for the missing part can be reset with the remaining components. Up front, these are not the best buds for top listening experience. You can't beat a true ANC set or over ears for that. However, these are an excellent option for you if you need to hear the world around you. I use these at work during my daily prep routine and I have a nice sound track to keep me motivated yet I can still here the world around me. I'm not surprised when another employee walks up behind me and talks. I may still have to pause my music to continue the conversation, but it just depends on the song. I'm not a fan of the tap controls either. I just use the Google Music app on my watch to pause and play. Fit requires a little wiggle and I wouldn't suggest these for the daily jog, but normal walking, bending, lifting during my day won't dislodge them.

      Hi FortieDad,

We're truly glad these LinkBuds deliver great sound quality and that you are connected and aware to people and places in everyday life, without ever having to pause your personal soundtrack. The LinkBuds may also fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.

Note: If they fall off or move in your ears when you shake your head, select a different size. The best fitting supporter may be different for each ear.

They are okay. I don't think I would re-buy them if lost or destroyed not worth the price. I've tried all the different size rings and they still fall out when I move around too much. Also even up all the way they are still kind of quiet.

Sound quality is good. May just be the way they fit me personally but they hurt my ears after a little while. They aren’t good for working out or lots of movement in general. I’ve had one or both fall out with certain head movement.

      Hi Disappointed,

While we're happy that you like the amazing audio quality, we regret to hear if an earache occurs when putting on our WF-L900 LinkBuds and they did not fit you well causing them to fall out when working out or doing lots of movement. This is definitely not the customer experience we want you to have. The LinkBuds may fall out or feel uncomfortable during use if you don't wear the LinkBuds properly or the ear fitting supporters are not correct for your ears.

Check that you are wearing the headset properly in your ears. If you wear the headset for a long time, your ears may start hurting. Use the headset while taking breaks periodically.

We have a recommended way of wearing these open-ear headphones. They also come with different sizes of fitting supporters. We highly recommend choosing the right size of supporters according to the size of your ears. Please make sure to follow the guide from this link:

I badly wanted to like these as I love the concept of being able to hear what's going on around you.i waited for months to find them in sale and even then they certainly weren't cheap. While the design to allow for hearing things around you does work well, that's pretty much the only thing that works about these headphones and the only reason I'm not giving 1 star. It takes an act of God to get Bluetooth to connect. I use them almost exclusively on my phone because the Sony app is the only way to get them to connect 99% of the time. Unfortunately it also has problems and on the day i purchased these, was not even accessible due to a a bug that wouldn't allow it to connect to Sony servers to display the user agreement. Now, I've owned them for maybe a couple of months, barely use them due to all of the above and somehow the batteries barely hold a charge. Battery life wasn't great to begin with and has been reduced by half or more. I definitely expected more from Sony and it would be a tough sell to get me to try another one if their products in the future.
