Before these I was already using a different, lower end, model of Sony earbuds that I've really enjoyed. The Extra Bass were a little step up in quality. I wanted something similar that sounded better, and these certainly sound much better. Unfortunately, the Extra Bass earbuds hurt my ears. I've tried different size cups and tried getting used to them, but they still just hurt. I've gone back to my previous buds as comfort trumps a small bump in quality for me.

I was looking for wired earbuds and saw the great reviews for this one. At the time, it was being discounted so I got them for $30. The build quality is great - the wires are thicker than your average earbuds and made of a material that helps prevent misshaping and jumbling. Each side is clearly labeled with L or R and the metal pieces on the buds help give a sturdy feel. Sound quality is a step above cheaper earbuds I'd used before these. I can hear a greater range of sounds, particularly on the lower frequency end, and can make out instruments in songs more clearly. These are an easy recommendation even at full price; they've lasted me for a couple of years now with no noticeable decline in quality and the wires are practically still in as good of a shape as when I first got them.

These are some great sounding earbuds. The sound quality is good and I like the call button which is also a stop/play button. These things just look like they are built to last and are of good quality. My only caveat is their weight. They are the heaviest earbuds I've ever used and feel like they will fall out of your ears if you move around too much.

I bought these headphones to replace the Apple ones I usually get. I actually like the Apple headphones because they have all the playback, microphone and volume features I like. But Apple seems to design their accessories to break and I got tired of buying them so often and having to trek to the Apple store at least twice during the one year warranty to have them replaced. But I digress. I bought these Sony headphones because the specifications specifically say that the product has volume control. So far, I have found no such function. The instructions sheet say the multi-function button may be accessed through an app on the Google Play store. I have an iPhone. So if there is in fact a volume function, I can't use it. Sony has the right to do whatever they want with their product but that needs to be specified. It's not the end of the world. It has everything else. I'm just a bit disappointed and may send these back on principle.

I love these earbuds. The overall sound is great and the bass is better than I thought they would be. My only (minor) quibble is the cord is a bit short for my specific need (connecting to a desktop computer sitting on the floor), but it's fine for things like phones, iPods, etc.

I purchased these headsets as a backup because the price was really good. I was looking to buy a good set of earbubs without paying alot of money that had a decent amount of Bass and I found it. These headsets are pretty good with Rich sound. I Have no regrets. I would definitely recommend this to others people.

These have excellent sound quality including the clarity of the treble and bass, minus the huge price tag that you would pay for Beats by Dre, Bose or any other products. If I break these, I wouldn't care and for the price of these, I will just purchase another pair of the these exact earbuds by SONY.

I REALLY loved these headphones. The sound was loud and bassy, but no one on the train could hear what I was listening to. They were noise cancelling and so very comfortable. Unfortunately, one of the earbuds recently broke, so I had to say goodbye. Would CERTAINLY buy these again. Worth every penny!

The sound quality is great. The cord is longer than average and that got annoying at times. The cord got a tangled a bit but not too often. I wish it had a volume adjuster button. After about 6 months they broke. Twice when I was wearing them the rubber earbud comfort thing actually stuck in my ear when I pulled the plastic earbud out of my ear and that was really weird and uncomfortable.

The "extra bass" isn't booming. It's just right. The sound quality is fantastic. Quality product from Sony.

I'm usually very picky about my headphones and was steering away from these and going for an expensive, high end product. But I took a chance on them on a whim because I was in a hurry to go get a run in, and I'm very happy I did. The Sony's are great. I'm a bigger guy so I had to change from the default ear plugs to the largest one they offered, but once I did, it was fantastic! Great seal to block out ambient noise and an incredibly strong sound with lots of bass. And despite the heavy bass, it never got "muddy" or lost the rest of the range. Again, I love bass...and I listen to lots of old school Rock and R&B. When I got home, I compared them to my wife's earPods for pure sound and the Sony's were much better to me which was a real surprise because I had always liked the sound of the earPods. But switching back and forth between the two, it was clear that the Sony was just a stronger all around sound for me. I did a lot of running and some hurdles and platform jumps and they never came out so I was very pleased with that aspect as well. As I said, I had to switch to the larger tips but once I did that, it was great, full sound and never moved during my exercise. I've been using them for about 5 different workouts now and still perfect for me.

I've got Bose IE2, Bowers & Wilkins C5, and a bunch of other ones. I was looking for something with a bit more bass than the IE2 and something with more mids & highs than the C5. These win in both respects but the bass is too powerful for my liking. It extends lower than the IE2 but because the bass is so overpowering the mids and highs are overshadowed but they are still better than the C5. The bass is big and powerful but doesn't have quite the sub-bass quality of the C5. I love BestBuy's return policy - I ended up taking these back and picking up the Sony XBAH1 which are my new favorite earphones.

I bought these earphones a week ago. The sound is crystal clear and thats a good bass. Love it. Even the wire is beautifully designed. Hearing the sound, one can assume those are like $70 worth. Great product for cheap price.

Bought them on sale, with no regrets. They have clean bass and over all sound awesome. The range of the sonys is impressive, from alternative to ambient. My new favorite buds.

I had the klipsch s4 before i got these buds, a good purchase and value.

We bought these for our son for Christmas. He has been using them for 3 weeks now and loves them. He said they are comfortable to wear and the sound is good and clear.

I am honestly surprised at how much bass can be bumped out of these little guys. Pretty good build quality with great sound. Perfect for anyone who loves bass heavy music.

Love these earbuds. Best quality sound I've had in a pair of earbuds for a while. Yesterday I got really sad when I accidentally ran them over. With my car. I started using an old pair of headphones that sound terrible and it was just depressing. So today I decided to hot glue the plastic of the earbud back together and see if they still worked and they did! Pleasantly surprised. I've never written a review for a product before, I was just very impressed so I made a Best Buy account just to write this.

These headphones are killer! Mostly EDM listener, but appreciate all genres and they all sound great. I did a lot of research before purchasing these, including a cross-comparison of user reviews for other headphones in this price range and somewhat niche area of bassy-$50-ish headphones. For fifty bucks these things bump! These sound like $100+ headphones, the bass is nice and clean, the mids and highs are (fairly) crisp, and are not drowned out by the bass (like the Beats headphones tend to do). If you've been doing your research and are considering these amongst a few others in the same tier, GET THESE! You won't be disappointed. A word to the wise - make sure not to rip them hard within the first few listening sessions, as with any new audio equipment. Ease into them, it will increase the longevity and sound quality. Also... COUGH*price-matching*COUGH (look around, I got these for about $34 in-store after talking with a store associate)
