The best part of these buds is that they isolate you from surrounding noise. As far as sound quality, these are a little above average. The response is flat with just a little boost in the bass. The highs are not brilliant, but not spectacular either.

This is my second pair of MDRXB50's since I like the first so much. The fit is secure enough to not fall off unless you're doing calisthetics or something really physical, yet they're only held in place by being the exact shape of my inner ear canal. Not using any wings or hooks makes them the most comfortable buds I have, and I have a lot. The sound is bass heavy, but with buds bass heavy is good since buds tend to sound tinny and shrill without it.

I had some Beats that stop working with hardly little use and I was angry with the amount of money I paid for those. I decided to check the sony and I was surprised how good these are for half the cost of the Beats. The sound and bass are really good.

For the past several years I’ve bought nothing but skullcandys but I wanted more bass without breaking the bank. The Sony’s are tougher and definitely have more bass than the skullcandys. I highly recommend them.

They really do have wonderful bass. Got them for my boyfriend and he really likes them. They are perfect for dub step music or anything with a lot of bass. If you're not a fan of bass, then these aren't the ones for you. GREAT SOUND OTHERWISE

These are the best earphones on the market for the price. They're better or as good as some ear/headphones that are hundreds of dollars. The range is excellent. You get that deep bass, but the highs are good, too.

These headphones sound great and really hold up. Great bass and really closes out the outside noise. Be sure to compare the price match with Amazon first, Best Buy will match

This is actually my second pair of these. I bought an extra pair while they were on sale to take with me when I travel. My original set has held up very well despite hours of daily use and they still work great. They have a very crisp sound with a good mix on the bass and their earbuds offer me great noise reduction. I've tried bose, sennheiser, and AT, but these are hands down my favorite.

These are solid buds, very comfy. Nice bass. The cord is kinda flat so they don't tangle nearly as much as other ear buds I've used. The mic is just ok, I use it for calls occasionally and no one has complained.

They’re pretty great. I just needed some with a microphone so I could record things for school and I’ve been using them for a long time. I really love the sound and how they don’t bother my ears. I’ve had them for more than a year and they’re still awesome and when I first bought them. Totally recommend them.

These earbuds have great sound quality. The bass is strong, but not overbearing and muddy. They have very good sonic clarity. Midrange and high frequencies are reproduced very well, too; making the overall sound well-balanced. The only minor drawback is there is no volume control built in, but with voice control; you can adjust that just fine.

I normally purchase Beats products, but decided to try the Sony earbud headphones because of their price. I honestly was surprised at the sound quality and deep bass response. They really are a quality product.

I really like these Earbuds. I wasn't ready to spend 29.99 on a pair of buds but instead of regularly getting $9-$20 Skullcandy buds I went for these. And they were not a disappointment. When I have the volume up on my MP3 player I cant hear other noises around me and the bass sounds great. With that said I am use to cheaper earbuds because I am rough with them while at work. So my opinion is only based off cheaper skullcandy or sony brands you would regularly find at Best Buy or Fry's Electronics. 5 Stars in my book. About 4 years ago I was given a pair of Bose active earbuds and I have to say not only was the sound quality just O.K. on the Bose they broke in less then a month. I guess that would be my quality pomparison.

These headphones are good for reproducing a bass, however there isn't much clarity. The bass is good, but it's not deep enough. Overall I'm satisfied with the headphones for working out and riding the train as they block out sound very good.

These sound amazing for the money, even better if you grab them for the sale price they're often found at. I haven't heard bass and mids like this in really anything under $100. I'd put the Klipsch R6's right up there with these though, but for different reasons, different sound. I find the mids just the smallest bit pushed back, but not much and the bass comes to life on these beauties. Highs are good, not sharp at all which is good in my opinion, I'm all about that bass, no treble... sorry for that, don't think less of me now. Comfort is very good for me, but this is subjective and largely depends on the tips you select. You'll want to install the largest tips you can comfortably wear too, because that's going to give you the best seal and thus the best bass response (in other words, tighter fit better bass). Call quality is decent, but come on guys, we're not getting this set for calls are we?! Nah, it's that Sony bass. I really like the cable on these (think miniature vacuum cleaner cord), it's durable and doesn't do to much in the way of microphonics (Google that word if curious, you'll learn something). Overall I am giving these 5 stars for the price/performance ratio, I wouldn't want to be without mine.

Bought these ear buds to replace my old ones. Got these on sale for $30. These sound amazing. The bass sounds deep. They come with 3 sets of ear tips and a nice carrying bag. Highly recommend these ear buds.

These earbuds were a good option for me, as I was in search of a product that would stand up to some punishment at the gym without breaking the bank. Sound quality is tremendous, although I do wish they had independent volume control.

This was a christmas gift for my son. He seems to be enjoying them. The noise cancelling seems to be working because he never hears me when I talk to him. Hmm.

The bass is not overpowering but you can feel it. Comfortable with 3 different size ear buds and stayed in for a whole 5 hour flight.
