I use mine on the plane for movies & audiobooks. They are only okay w/out the noise canceling feature, but with it on, the reader's voice is much clearer/easier to hear.

Don't really cancel out noise in an office

Maybe better for cancelling out engine noise from a plane - they are decent headphone but not for cancelling out noise in an office.
