After talking with the folks at my Best Buy store they really helped me understand the different features and price points of the headphones. These headphones have great features and a really good price.

With a dead battery, the headphones still work, and I really cannot tell the difference. Having said that, I normally wear hearing aids (not with the headphones, of course) and the noise-cancelling feature may be too subtle for me. Or my house is noisier than the Sony engineers expected...2 dogs, cat, grandchildren, chickens and Guinea hens (the birds are not in the house), etc.

Sound quality is decent, but its not too great. Not a very comfy fit unfortunately.
