I wanted name brand noise cancelling (NC) over-the-ear headphones for an upcoming trip of mine, but didn't want to spend a lot of money since I don't travel a lot and I already have wireless ear buds, so I tried these out. This may be as good of headphones you can get at this price since it was comparable to cheap on-ear NC headphones I once used many years ago, but I would recommend to my friends that they spend more money to get better ones. PROS: 1. Compact folding design & up/down adjusting for each side. 2. Extra long battery life - On an AAA battery (one included) NC will work for 87.5 hours according to rtings.com. That's gotta be better than most wireless or wired headsets! 3. Sound quality with & without NC seemed fine when listening to music. CONS: 1. Its NOT over-the-ear, its on-the-ear. Opening is only the size of a coin (see pic for comparison). The outer cushion did cover my entire ear. 2. Lack of comfort. It felt OK to wear them for 2 hours straight, but after removing the headphones is when my ears hurt for a while. The rest of my head felt fine despite padding being only on the ears. 3. Noise cancellation - I turned it on with low to mid pitch background noise of moderate volume, and it was less effective than I had hoped, so if I had to guess I wouldn't expect it to drown out more than 70% of airplane noise, if that.

I needed a pair of Noise cancelling over-ear headphones that were wired, because all wireless, even the best which I have a few of, have a slight delay, and I’m using this with a guitar amp. These satisfy without breaking the bank.

The product is very good at cancelling the noise and delivering good sound. Very comfortable for long flights. I was surprised to find the cost of this device lower in an airport vending machine versus the store.

Sony consistently delivers good sound on a variety of levels. For an inexpensive pair of headphones, these are a great value!

I bought these for my daughter, who loves them. They weren't terribly expensive, but we didn't need the absolute best sound quality--just decent performance and durability. These delivered on both. Noise-cancelling is a nice feature to have as well.

Great for tuning out others! Would recommend them for hard of hearing, also.

Cancels noise and provides fantastic music and TV input. Comfortable. I often fall asleep with them on.

These headphones are very light weight and do a could job of reducing the background noise on a flight. I estimate they reduce the noise by 50%. They are reasonably priced. I especially like the way they fold into a compact package for carrying.

Bought this for travel only and it did a job, but do you really need it, no. The plane had regular jack so there was not need for the plane jack to ever be used. If you have money to spent, i definietly recommend, sound quality was great and noise canceling was fantastic.

Not looking for a headset with bells and whistles. Great headset for the price. Very comfortable on the ears and good clear sound.

This is the second pair of these headphones that I have purchased. The first pair still works great after 2+ years. These are great noise-canceling headphones that are at a great price point. Perfect for the airplane!

Comfortable over the ear set. The sound is good and the noise cancellation is good as well for a set of this price.

Great overall quality and function. Not the most comfortable ear cups. Sound quality is above average. Folding function is really nice. Two sided wires are a little awkward and short in length for most uses.

This is a very good alternative for noise cancelling headphones. Not to big, travel friendly and you do not have to break the bank. Great sound and I used it on under three hour flights with very satisfying results. Would recommend if you are looking for a good alternative at a affordable price. Uses 1 AAA battery that you need to switch off when not in use.

I wanted to get noise cancelling headphones without spending a fortune for a long flight. These worked perfectly. I'll never fly without them again. I also use them for studying as the noise cancelling keeps me focused. The only downside is you can hear human voices through these very well. So if you are going to try to use them in a noisy office environment they probably wont work as well as you would home. They will cut down on the background noise but still have the voices come through. For example while studying in the library yesterday I could clearly hear the person a couple tables away playing music videos on their phone, but couldn't hear other background noise.

I use these with a portable CD player while on the treadmill. They cancel out the treadmill sound just fine. Comfortable fit. Good price.

I really got tired of earbuds. That was my reason for purchasing the headphone. Very lite weight and comfortable. Reasonable price too

Another excellent product from Sony at a budget price. The sound quality is excellent. and it blocks out external noise very well.!

Really nice headphones. Very comfortable, noise reduction, eith base booster switch. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice pair of headphones at a reasonable price.
