Then simply stopped canceling background noise. I changed battery, the on light is turned on. If you do buy it, buy it elsewhere. The return process thru best buy is difficult. The website says I have to include original box, manual, cables, power supply,... This is a battery operated device. No power supply, and I threw out the paper that showed how to put the battery in. Best buy is losing a long time customer

The noise cancelling properties of the headphones were disappointing. If the use is to drown out airplane noise, be prepared to be disappointed. It's good for general use such as music and watching those airline movies.

I mostly just boosts the sound coming through the headphones. Noise around me was not cancelled out at all. I was extremely disappointed. The joke was that when I returned them to Best Buy, the counter person basically said that the low cost headset all do the same bogus thing - just raise their volume more. We both agreed that the only way to get true noise canceling headsets is to pay the price.

Just spend the money on the Bose. And if you want to go fancy buy the wireless 35.

They were so uncomfortable that I ended using what the airlines offered instead! Also, there was such as minimal difference when the noise cancellation was activated. Not worth the money.

I tried to use them on our ten hour flight to Hawaii and they did not work very well for me! They did not cancel or reduce the plane noise or surrounding noise from other passengers.
