I have a pair of Bose QC35 noise-cancelling headphones and my wife wanted a pair for our 11-hour airline flight recently so she got these to try. While they allowed her to listen to music & watch movies on the plane with a little noise cancellation benefit, they were nowhere near as effective as the Bose headphones. She tried my Bose and didn't want to give them back to me because of how much better they worked and how much quieter the ambient noise was. These Sony headphones will allow you to listen to music and may provide a little better noise cancellation than standard ear buds, but don't expect that they will drown out even half of the ambient noise. If you want true noise cancellation, go for the Bose or Beats.

Sound is good but uncomfortable to wear
