I had to purchase these because I have neighbors that love to make lots of noise upstairs. I didn't know how well noise cancelling for this price point works, but it's been amazing. One thing to note is that listening to music with noise-cancelling off is incredibly substandard sound. You need the feature on for good sound.

Use player as FM receiver when walking/running. The headphones provide sufficient noise-cancelling during playback of stored content, but distracting hiss when using noise-cancelling w/ FM radio use. Nevertheless, good sound.

Decent sound for the price, bit uncomfortable

Sound is decent enough, especially nice in the higher ranges. My whole head starts hurting pretty badly after just an hour or so of use, but especially my ears. Certainly not great for long studio sessions, but they do their job!

Sony inexpensive, over the ear QUALITY headphones

Having owned high end headphones before I was not expecting what they delivered. They sound great! My only regret is I didn't buy more than one. Buy them, you will be impressed.

However not having to hear the children on the plane was wonderful.
