Nice battery, but a bit over priced

This battery is a nice in that it's small and lightwieght, but the usage time and the price are an issue with me. I mostly use it in my relatively new HDR-CX240 to record my children's school and travel basketball games, and those usually last 45-60 minutes per game. Once the battery life indicator gets to 3/4, it seems as if it discharges faster, and that's taking into account that I always close the camera's view finder during timeouts and breaks in action to conserve energy. I can't afford to let the battery totally discharge while filming so I usually swap out with a spare after every game. I have been brave enough to go a game and a half before changing it out, but I won't go longer than that. I may try to experiment with some games that don't matter to me to see how long it will last, but not on the important ones. I have to keep three on me at all times to be sure. One good thing is that they usually recharge relatively quickly. My one other issue is the price. I love Sony products, but they tend to be a little more pricey than needed IMHO. Not even counting the cost of my camera, three batteries and a charger have set me back $150. For that kind of money, I should get better battery life. In comparison with my older HDR-CX-220 camera with the NP-FV100 battery, I could record at least 4 games before putting a dent in the battery life. It may have been bulky, but it was a beast in longevity. If Sony could increase the battery life by 50%, then I would give it an excellent rating.

I'm still relatively new to the camera and battery. I bought this spare battery for my Sony DSC-WX350. The battery life is very good, and I like having a spare so I don't get caught with a dead camera. Recharging the spent battery is a bit of a logistical "dance" because the battery charges inside the camera. This means that once you use the charged spare to replace the spent battery, you have to remember to swap the batteries at home, charge the spent battery, and then but the partly used battery back into the camera before heading out for the next day of use. I put labels ("a" and "b") on my two batteries so I don't get confused. Having a separate wall charger to keep the spare battery is a simpler solution.

Excellent battery - needs more capacity

The Sony RX100 V is an excellent camera. As of this time, Sony only recommends the NP-BX1 as the battery to use. Went through 3 of them during the day of heavy usage. The battery did not get hot, fail or glitch the camera, even when it was low on charge. The battery provided plenty of power till it ran out. My only complaint is the camera needs a battery with more capacity so one can run for a longer time before changing batteries out. That's not the fault of the battery. When there is a higher cap battery available I will try it to see how it works.

    Power Drains Quickly

I bought this as a backup battery to my Sony RX 100 V camera. This is the only fault of this camera. The battery drains quickly. On a few days I went through 2 batteries and had to recharge with a external power source. It really drains the battery quickly when trying to transfer photos to iPhone or when using the iPhone to take selfie pictures. I finally decided to use the camera's 5 second timer to take selfies to save the battery. That was much better in saving battery life.

    Cover, or wrap, comes loose

The batteries allow a lot of pictures to be taken. Unfortunately, the wrap, cover, whatever you call it, comes loose. At times the loose wrap catches on something when trying to insert the battery in the camera. The battery must be removed from the camera, the wrap needs to be squeezed back in place, then reinserted. All four batteries I have do the same thing.

This battery charged up just like it should and gave me the expected number of shots -- which isn't a heck of a lot. So I recommend having extras on hand if you shoot a lot. If you use your flash a lot or set your camera to continuous shooting, you will run through batteries quickly. I now have five of these batteries and think I could easily use that many in a day. I use it with my Sony RX100 camera and got the Sony charger which works well and gives me a clear indication when the battery is completely charged.

Works. Does what it should. I am a bit disappointed that the Sony RX100 has such bad battery life i had to buy a spare so I could get a decent number of shots while on vacation (the battery only lasts for about 250-280 shots per charge) which is fine if you use it occasionally but i wanted to use it on vacation, so I had to buy another battery (this one). Price was fine, just annoyed that the RX100 has poor battery life to require more than one for serious shooting.

Bought two of these batteries as spares for my new Sony DSC-HX80 camera. Have recharged them a couple of times now with no problems and they also have a good long use life. Would have preferred to pay less but new ones were they same price or more expensive on the web without the advantage of Best Buy Rewards.

I looked on the web for weeks to evaluate the Sony versus other action cameras. Everything lead to two choices. I choose Sony but discovered immediately that Sony had discontinued their action camera line. I am unable to purchase the remote for the camera. I have used the camera with a dashcam accessory. The result was great. I have tried to use the bluetooth to my iphone with some success. But the piece I need is the wrist

Do yourself a favor and make sure you get at least 2 extra batteries so that you will have 3 total if you plan to use one of the Action Cameras like I did. I definitely needed the two batteries and I can see if I used the camera a bit more would have needed the third. They last around an hour or so if memory serves me right. Depends on how warm the day is etc and if you're doing recording or playback etc....

This battery was exactly what I needed for my Sony RX100IV. It was expensive, but not more than at any other camera store. And I was elated that it came with a convenient battery case! I was so happy it was in stock, for I needed a back-up for my upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon! I strongly recommend having a back-up battery (or two) for your digital camera, especially if you shoot lots of photos like I do!

The battery life doesn't last that long. I bought an extra one because of it but it still serves a purpose and I'm able to record what I want. Definitely needed an extra battery to record my daughter's extracurricular activities. So far two batteries aren't enough to record an entire event. I don't want to buy another one so I just try to record less to save battery life.

I bought this for a backup when the original runs out of power for our vacation. It seems to have a very long life and it is always good insurance to have an extra battery for your camera on vacation. The reviews say that you can take almost 400 pictures and I think that between the two batteries we will be able to cover the busiest picture taking days on our Alaskan vacation.

I have an RX100 MKII which is a $700+ camera. I didn't want to take any chances with an aftermarket battery. The best thing about using the manufacturers battery is they both behave exactly the same (charge time, drain time). I've used cameras with a replacement battery that would drain faster than the original and it makes it tough to be out in the field and not intuitively know how much battery life I have.

I have two. It may have been the first charge for one of the batteries that needed a second go-round with the charger because it seemed very short-lasting. But a proper re-charge fixed the issue. I think I did read that a double check on the charge might be necessary. However, I also found that to be true with other battery brands in the past. I plug into the wall to charge. That's my favorite way by far.

Sony makes some amazing cameras, HOWEVER they all have one con to them...the battery life. My Sony RX100 only lasts about 20-30 minutes on a full charge recording in 1080p 60 fps...THATS KINDA SAD! My Canon G7X battery can last a WHOLE DAY!!! So these are a necessity if you are buying a Sony camera so I am still going to recommend buying extra batteries for your Sony camera.

This battery is a great rechargeable battery. I found it appealing b/c you are able to view the remaining battery life in minutes. A word of caution, you are only able to view the remaining battery life ONLY if you use it with electronic equipment having the InfoLITHIUM logo. If your equipment doesn't have the logo, the capacity will not be displayed in minutes. Otherwise, it's a good battery.

Bought an extra battery for my Sony - AS300 action-cam I know there are after market versions but I wouldn't trust any other brand. When you buy brand name there is no risk for compatibility issues, build quality is better as well as durability, the charge is very consistent no unexpected power loss. Simply put the quality is better and more reliable.

I purchased these batteries as extras for a long trip I am taking with my Sony RX-100 V camera. These are perfect for my needs, reasonably priced and are the exact batteries that came with my camera. Great deal on a necessary accessory for cameras. These also work with other cameras, just check your battery model number before purchasing.
