It's always nice to have an extra since my camera will only take about 300 pictures before it needs to be recharged. I'm not sure if it's worth the extra money for a genuine Sony product, but I guess if you're willing to spend $800 for a point and shoot camera (RX100M3), $39 isn't so bad.
