After I purchased my first Sony MP3 player I was in the market to buy another MP3 player for my family and I bought a different brand which I did not like so I immediately purchased this Sony - NWZ-E380 Series Walkman 8GB* Video MP3 Player in Black. You cannot go wrong.

It gets plenty loud and equalizers that up that volume. This is great. I kind of wish the charging cord was a bit longer so I could set it off to the side when charging, but otherwise it is great.

This was for our daughter and was a less expensive alternative than an apple product. We wanted to start her out on this to give her a chance to prove she would be responsible with it. A great product, but just know it was not designed to have all the same function of an iPod.

However, the screen is not as detailed (not as many pixels) as my first Sony mp3 player. Pictures still look pretty good. I have not tried loading a video onto it.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as a gift for my husband, because I have had a Walkman MP3 player for over 3 years (an older model obviously) and it has survived falling in a glass of water, getting lost and found several times, etc. It is the MP3 player that will not die, and I love it. I use it with Rhapsody and pay $10 a month for unlimited music that I can download to it. I have to drive a lot for work, and if it weren't for all that music, I might go crazy. My plan was to put this Walkman (for my hubby) on my Rhapsody plan. However, the new Walkmans are NOT compatible with Rhapsody. I then thought no big deal, I will hook it up to the new Sony Music Unlimited, which should be the same thing. Well, guess what...only newer Walkman models are compatible with Music Unlimited. This one is not. When I did a little more research, I realized that this model is not compatible with ANY online music subscription service. So the only way to put music on the device is to a) already own it on your computer or CD, or b) pay for each individual track through iTunes or something similar, or c) download music illegally (which I'm loathe to do since my computer has gotten viruses that way in the past). Maybe I'm missing something here, but for me, the whole beauty of having an MP3 player (not an iPod) is being able to download as much music as I want for one monthly subscription price. If I bought every song that is currently on my MP3 player it would cost me about $1500, and of course if I wanted to change or add them, I'd pay more. I returned the Walkman, sadly. I love my old one, and hope it never dies, because apparently the newer ones just don't do the same trick!
No, I would not recommend this to a friendAwesome Ipod...even has a radio like a walkman.
