Worked OK on the airplane, but I returned the headphones because it may be worth spending more money for higher -dB cancellation capability.

As an owner of a different model of Sony headphones I thought these would be close to equal. Poor fit for glasses wearer.

These are not really noise canceling. If you want noise canceling, spend more money for Bose or Beats.

Thought they would be great once folded up but they were too big for my head and had to return them.

Sound quality isnt great and they do not block out any outside noise.

Not at all what was advertised, don't be fooled by the picture of the jet engines on the box. These head phones do not block out the noise on a plane.

These headphones sounded great but I bought them for the noise reduction. On the plane you could still hear the roar of the plane. I was very disappointed.

The product says they are "active" noise cancelling headphones. They, in fact, didn't cancel out any noise. I immediatly returned the item.

Bought these and ended up returning them. They barely fit over your ears. And are very uncomfortable. The sound is not good.

Needs better quality for what I am using,it for. They were fine for general music listening

These are the worst headphones I have ever had by Sony. They feel cheap and sound even worse.

These were cheap made and did not block out the noise. I returned them for a refund.

Surprisingly good for the money. Looked at many other headphones at much higher price points. Lightweight, folds, fairly good sound. Great for lugging through airports.

I have been trying ear buds and ear plugs but nothing could block the surround sound and talk at a loud starbucks. I was thinking either the 299.99 BOSE noise cancellation or these. I thought, for $50.00 how could they match BOSE headphones. I would try them out to see if they work and i still had 15 days to return. (great return policy at best buy) Nothing against the BOSE headsets, but I will not be returning these Sony headphones. With the music low and noise cancellation on I cannot hear one word or the music blasting over my head. I couldn't even hear my phone ring in front of me. I rarely comment but this is a great product. And for 50.00, I had to brag. Great for the student.

I bought these headphones a few days ago because my old pair finally gave out. They were on sale and I noticed that they were noise canceling so I decided to try them. After using them, I have to admit they're disappointing. The noise canceling affect works pretty good, but the sound quality and volume are not good at all. I had to turn my iPhone up all the way almost just to get a decent volume. However, they do fit nicely around the head but other than that they are not a very good pair of headphones. Going to return them and try something else!

Ok, no matter what the other reviews say, these DO cancel noise. It's not very noticable when you first turn the function on. But once you've been listening to them for a while with it on, and then turn it off, it's VERY obvious just how much noise these cancel out. My initial reaction was the same as others that have said "these don't work". But I was stuck on a cross-country flight with them, so I didn't have another choice for headphones, so I had to use them. After an hour on the noisy plane I turned the noise cancelling function off and was amazed at how loud the plane suddenly sounded. Sound quality with these is good. It's better with the noise cancelling off, but either way they do sound good. Nice flat response curve that lets you set your equalizer how you like it without the 'phones changing the way you want to hear your music. Overall, for $50 I'm happy with these, and if you want noise cancelling headphones for flying or long car rides, these can't be beat for the price.

Has typical, low end price, sound quality. I was surprised to find a pair of headphones with Noise Cancellation at such a low price. I soon found out why! They don't work! I was hoping the noise cancellation feature would help me listen to music when at work, where I share a team development room with 6 or 7 others at a time...but I was disappointed as it doesn't work AT ALL! I'm now looking at replacing them with something else as I don't think I can get anything to perform worse.

They are cheap noise cancelling headphones. Sound quality is ok. For the price it is a good buy.

I was disappointed with these headphones; their sound quality is decent when it comes to balance between low, mid, and high range, but the noise cancellation feature is almost non-existant. My biggest complaint with these are they're just too big! I have them on the shortest setting and they still don't fit my head (I don't have THAT small of a head either). Overall they're good value for their price, but there are better headphones out there such as Sennheiser HD428's. These are also tight to your head, and if you leave them on for long enough they can cause a headache.
