After PSN started charging I think they really stepped up their server maintenance. I won't mind paying to have a smooth experience. On top of that, there's a handful of free games a month and crazy sales all the time. Buying a year membership is totally worth it and pays for itself with all the free stuff you get. Also, exclusive access to demos.

Coming from someone that has utilized both Xbox Live and PS Plus, I can say Xbox beats them hands down. Xbox Live is super intuitive and much more user friendly than PS Plus is. By that I mean it's much easier to connect with friends, invite friends, view messages, etc. Also, the infrastructure of the PS Plus is just not up to snuff. The troll hack around Christmas time in 2014 was a total fail for Sony. I mean, for all the money they're raking in on the service, it's pathetic to have it down for a week, no less just when everyone gets new systems, games, etc. My advice is to stick with the Xbox, heck I went back to it myself.

I don't really have a problem with paying to play online but it's better if it's free isn't it? Still, maybe now that we are paying they will fix problems faster, although I didn't have many before, mostly just that one time Sony was hacked. The free games are easily worth it. Even at full price, $50 for a whole year is not a lot of money in my opinion. Totally worth it.

It's a bit silly that they made it required to have for multiplayer but I have had PS Plus since it's inception. While the games they offer each month are many times subpar, there will be a few a year that are really good (if you don't have them already!). That alone makes it valuable. Also cloud saves are pretty good.

PlayStation Plus is a must for any gamer. Sony requires the membership to play games online and you get 1-3 free games per month for PS3/PS4. In addition to free games, you get discounts off certain games throughout the year. Highly recommend this product if you enjoy online play or make most of your gaming purchases via the PS Store.

Getting the annual membership is more responsible for your wallet! You are guaranteed free games for all Sony platforms (PS4, PS3 and Vita). You also have online access for online multiplayer for PS4. There is also monthly flash sales on games and usually a weekly sale for games so you can expand you game collection without breaking the bank!

Many people feel because PSN is free, there is no need to pay for it. PS+ could be the greatest value in this gaming generation. For $49.99, you have access to many free games (so long as you remain a member). Many of these games are newer titles. You also get free avatar icons, wallpapers, and even exclusive timed demos. It is a great value and I cannot recommend enough!

It gives access to exactly what it says it does. It's very easy to use.

It is the same as the more expensive 12-month membership. I believe they need to get rid of this so I suggest stocking up and saving $10. The card I received came with an additional 3 months extra, score!!! The only way to play PS4 is online with friends, then you won't feel like a loser playing video games for 3 hours every night.

Playstation Plus is a great way to fill up your library with some of Playstation's older game options. I enjoy picking up games that I haven't ever played before and giving them a go. It is well worth the $5 or so per month. Playstation usually offers 1-3 games per system (PS3, PS4, PS Vita) every month. The more systems you have, the more you can cash in on.

I hate paying for online ps3 it was free ps4 now charges i think it sucks, it does come with free games on pan but those also suck. Free online gameplay should be possible.

Not too much of a fan of having to pay to use the online feature of games, but I have to say that Sony does a great job of offering additional benefits so it does not feel like I'm being nickeled and dimed above any beyond my $60 game purchased. Getting free games, some of them blockbusters is awesome. Free backgrounds, and other extras really help justify the cost.

I remember when PS pushed that they were "free" while XBox charged for online gaming. Only bought it to play Destiny with friends on PS4. Overall, the PS+ free games have been no good for PS4. Hope that changes soon.

If u haven't did a search recently ps plus members benefits are ridiculous the amount of free games and extra stuff u get for being a member is unparalleled and unlike xbox the free stuff they give you is actually current games that people actually like playing and did I mention this membership isn't a requirement for u to play games it's just the icing on the cake

For the price $39 (on sale) to $49 (regular price) the content you receive from a Playstation Plus membership is excellent. It is a much added value to the brand and easily pays for itself within a couple of uses. It's required for PS4, however, the discounts and other features you receive with this membership make it worth while for any gamer. A must have!!

The card itself worked just fine. You just scratch off the back, get the code, apply it to your PSN account and you're a member for a year. The benefits to being a Playstation Plus member are terrific. Free games every month plus extra discounts on all PSN game sales. Sometimes you even get member discounts on pre-orders. Great value.

What can I say.. If you need PlayStation plus to play a game online this is obviously critical. It's a shame they went away from free multiplayer but I guess it was good while it lasted. I do enjoy that they give you free games every month that sometimes arnt complete garbage. Plus the online storage is always a great thing to have.
