This is required for online gaming. The PS3 online gaming was free but that console was $300 more on launch than the PS4. So i guess the money had to be made up by requiring the Playstation Plus membership.

I would suggest purchasing this card for a couple reasons: 1) This is the best price plan for Playstation Plus 2) Buying the card from Best Buy versus buying direct from your Playstation account gets you rewards if you are My Best Buy member.

If you are looking to get the most out of your PlayStation Plus experience than the 12 month 49.99 dollar subscription is the one you definitely want to go for. This service is so great I'd recommend it to anyone looking to get a PlayStation 4.

Free games every month. Games that are awesome like Battlefield 3 can pretty much pay for the card itself. Even if your ps+ expired you can wait until a new game that you want to come out and resubscribe and still be able to play your old ps+ games that you downloaded.

With the addition of PS+, the biggest seller would be the free monthly games offered to members for their three active platforms. Although I'm not used to paying for online access, I'm happy that Sony offered a number of benefits to go along with their service.

I was able to get mine for $39.99, which was great. PSN doesn't always work that well, but this is a must if you plan on playing any games online.

If I have to pay to play online with the PS4, then this is the way to go. With the 12-month membership, it's a low cost per month and online play is worth it. Haven't looked into the free content yet, but I'll be doing that soon after reading others' reviews.

The great thing about having this online subscription is the library of games that come with it, every month getting a new game and you are able to stockpile it over three different systems, definitely worth having your subscription on point

I though psn plus for 1 year for $50 was good but on black friday i bough the 1 year psn plus for $30. Thats a very awesome bargain deal especially if you new to the playstation scene and just got the ps4.psn plus have better value than xbox live gold membership.

I just got it because it apparently makes the gaming experience better...I have no proof on whether it does or doesn't because I bought it...

I've held back on being a member of Playstation Plus for years, but with the forthcoming PS4, which I've preordered, you have to be a member to play online with your friends. Thought I'd get a jump start with the sale price I managed to get on this through Best Buy.

If you play PS4, there is no way around it; you need this. When I purchased it, it was on sell at a $10 discount. To put it bluntly, I have been paying full price and never had an issue. All the free games you get in the library is a steal!

The 12 month online membership for ps4 also comes with selective free monthly online games, movies, etc to download not only to your ps4 device but to multiple ps4/ps3 devices in your home using just one 12 month online subscription.

Playstation Plus is a worthwhile service. While you need it for online it also gives you six free games (2 each for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita) each month. The games range from indie size to AAA, so there is plenty of variety. A must have for Playstation owners!

With almost every game these days needing internet and a Playstation membership it is a must to get the full year membership. Buying month to month is too expensive. It is best to just buy the full year. It is cheaper in the long run.

If you want to play the PS4 online, you need a PS+ membership. You might as well get the 1 year and get more for your money. Free games, discounted products from the PS Store, and can be used for your PS3, PS4, or PS Vita. A must have for any Playstation gamer.

I prefer this to Xbox live because of the free games PlayStation offers to members and the features I actually use. I just felt like I was paying for a bunch of stuff I didn't want with Xbox live...

It's $59 per year if you renew via Sony but if you grab a card at your local Best Buy you can get for $10 less ($49.99 per year). The online sales via the PlayStation store and free games access makes this membership totally worth it.

If you can find them they have the 12 month subs at the old original price! Whats there to say about this other then its great to be able to run to the store and grab a card when my Plus has run out. BB makes it simple to keep gaming!
