Yea, you need it for PS4 online, but the benefits behind it make the cost factor way better. Just one year of this you get easy x6 the cost in free games from sony for the year.

PS+ is Sony's pay online subscription. It is required if one wants to play PS4 online (not required for PS3 or Vita online play). In addition, members get free games each month and extra over non members discounts on other games/digital purchases. An OK deal at $50 a year, but really good if one can get on under $40.

Bought this card for online play for my son - worked out great. I personally do not like making purchase with my credit on his playstation so this is a better why

For the money you get access to a lot of top games. I had a ps3 that received service and lost all of my save data. If I had gotten this sooner I wouldn't have lost all that play time.

At first I was upset that I had to buy another online subscription, but Sony makes sure to give you more than just online play for your money, making the subscription well worth it.

Exactly, as advertised. 12 month membership to playstation plus. Activation code on a cardboard sheet. Simple and could be activated when entered into playstation.

Finally upgraded to Playstation Plus status and now I wonder why I waited so long. The first free game I downloaded would have cost $59. Amazing savings and convenience. I love it.
