If you play multiplayer games online on the PS4, you will want to purchase this 12-month membership since it is the best value of the PS+ that are offered. You can occasionally get it cheaper than $49.99 but that is the standard price. I recently bought a PS4 (well, half of one) for someone and I knew the present would not have been complete without the PS+ so I bought that as well. I have a PS4 myself and will continue to buy the PS+ membership to play online games with others. Also of note are the free games you get each month and sometimes discounts. These aren't as appealing to me- if you get rid of your PS+ membership the free games are no longer able to be played (unless you get PS+ again or buy the game) and usually the discounts are on digital copies of games, and I prefer hard copies of games so that isn't that useful to me.

I'm new to console gaming, so I wasn't excited about needing to purchase an additional subscription for multiplayer online gaming. I bit the bullet and went ahead and ordered this with my PS4 and I have no complaints. $50 seemed a bit steep at the time of purchase, but with the free games and full game trials on top of the multiplayer access, it's not so bad. There are also some exclusive deals that come out on a regular basis that are really tempting.

$50 a year gets you anywhere between 24-72 games a year depending on what consoles you have. On top of that, a lot of the games are cross-platform, giving you the opportunity to play more than just the 24 ps4 games a year. Most months you get 5-6 games for free on ps4. Some are clunkers, but there's at least one hidden gem a month it seems. On top of that, discounts on their online store help to pay the $50 off over time. Not even looking at the online play that playstation plus can be required for, it's already a great deal. If you're not a member, I highly recommend it.

Playstation Plus is now required for online play but with the multitude of downloadable titles tied to your account, it very quickly pays for itself. Most months, you'll find at least two PS4 games, a lot as crossbuy titles with the PS3 and Vita and if you're a PS3 owner, a pair of games as well. An important part of this equation though, the games are technically free but are only playable if you have an active PS Plus account. If your account lapses, the games are unplayable but once the account is reinstated, access is returned to all of your games tied to the account.

Playstation Plus continues to be one of the best values in gaming. The pure idea of paying a yearly fee to game online may still sit poorly with some people, but the value you get from the Instant Game Collection is hard to beat. Get the subscription during one of the regular sales you can find and enjoy the "free" games all year. You will easily get your value out of the monthly games as long as you play a handful. Remember to "buy" all of the games on the PS store even if you don't own all systems -- you'll have them waiting for you if you ever do get the system.

I got one year of PS Plus because of the upcoming PS4 release. I got it on sale for around $35... which was great. I had issues with the store pickup, but that had nothing to do with the item. The value is amazing with all of the free games and discounts. Since it is required for PS4, might as well get it now while it is discounted. As an Xbox Live subscriber I can say that PS Plus blows it away.

PS+ is highly recommended if you have a PlayStation console (PS3, PS4, or Vita). The online capabilities make it mandatory if you want to play multiplayer online, but you also get save game backups, auto-updates, a slew of social features, and perhaps most importantly *free games* every month. You can claim all of the free games (for all of the systems) whether or not you have all of the systems if you log into the PSN store online (with a web browser). That way, if you ever end up with one of the other systems you'll have a pile of games waiting for you.

When the end of days comes you may not have a credit card or a debit card to supply online, heck even today with fraud and scammers it's a scary business to bring your 16 digit finance identification number online! That's why these PSN cards are so brilliant and awesome! You bring cash, card, check, money order, bottle caps, etc. to Best Buy and they let you walk out with one of these cards to plug in online instead. Your money is safe, your PSN account is full, and you're ready to game! It's a win/win situation that can't be beat!!! A++++ would do business with again!

Bought this after purchasing Bloodborne for my PS4, so that I could experience the online components of the game. Entering the code was simple, and I have so say the value you get for subscription far exceeds the cost of the membership. In my first month alone, the value of the free games, cloud storage, and discounts more than amounted to the amount I paid of the subscription card. So. if you're on the fence about buying the 12 month subscription card don't be. It's well worth the small investment, and you'll find it pays for itself VERY quickly.

its well worth the money and actually pays for itself, as it has for me the day i got it. I got two full games (metal gear solid, and bone-a-fide shotgun (or something close to that) which together, would cost as much, if not more than the membership. Also gives you online cloud storage(invaluable if you need more storage soace for games not played much and you dont have enough storage for a new downloadable game). Again, you get full games (2 a month i believe and its whatever playstation onlines special is for that month). Highly recommended.

This review is from the perspective of a person with only a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable in 2017 and for those in the same situation. I pay for PlayStation Plus to get cloud storage and the "free" monthly games for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable (that you can only play as long as you have an active subscription). The quality of their game offerings for PlayStation 3 as of November 2017 dropped off a cliff and their PSP offering is zero so the subscription is relegated to accessing PSP games I have already redeemed in the past. Subscribe only if you are actively redeeming the "free" PlayStation 4 games with the intent of eventually getting a PS4 to play your growing PS Plus back catalog because they are offering good to great games for it. PS Plus is required for online multiplayer for PS4, so you have to subscribe regardless of any review to play online on PS4.

If you want to play online with your PS4 you need to have this. That said, you get free games every month too. Mostly indie games, but they have some good AAA titles from time to time. Also, there are free games for PS3 and PS Vita as well as PS4 every month so if you have a subscription you get can download games for any of these systems. You can also "purchase" free games for a system you do not own and download them if you get one later on. Keep in mind that you need a subscription in order to play them.

I love the PS Plus service. It gives you 2 to 3 solid games each month for the PS3 as well as some free DLC, Themes, and discounts on other things. When Santa surprised us with a new PS4, I was able to link both machines to the one account. I now get 2-3 free games for both the PS3 and PS4 per month. For the PS4, PS Plus is actually required in order to play multiplayer games, which is different than the PS3. Overall, this is a great value that supplies me with plenty of free games as well as other fun stuff.

Yes you need this for online multi-player on ps4. Does not matter. Buy this. It pays for its self over and over. If you have a ps3 this is even more valuable if you got into a ps3 late. As of right now you get 2 ps4 games 2 ps3 games and 2 vita game some of which are cross console compatible (ie. 4 games that play on ps4 and ps3)... Every month. And access to sales and discounts game trials and more. Last year the value in games and discounts was well over 1000$. It is the best deal in gaming going on.

Automatic Download service to keep all your games up-to-date without physically having to launch the title. 150MB of online data storage for your save game files or data files (You can even back up copy-restricted saves) As a Plus member you will receive early access to game demos and be given priority when it comes to specific Beta invite handouts, Plus members are first to get access. And free Plus themes and avatars. Lots of benefits!!

Unless you are using the PS4 as a GPU based hacker tool, you are going to need this to pretty much play EVERY game available. Plus, you get free downloads. Since you need it, you might as well get your BB and Shopkick points by getting it here. The only question is this.. Do you gamble that the price is going to stay the same or go up? This would mean that you should get several of these since you will need them year over year. (You could always give them to your friends as gifts.)

PS Plus is literally required for online play on PS4 systems, but if you have any of the other systems in Sony's ecosystem, then you reap the full benefits of the monthly instant game collection. Good to have if you own say a Vita and a PS4 or both a PS3 and PS4. If you have the membership and plan on getting a PS4 or Vita in the future, be sure to add the free games for that system each month to your library. That way you build a library of content before you own the system.

PlayStation Plus is an excellent value for any PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, or PlayStation Vita owner. You get multiple games per month for free just for having an active subscription. Getting a 12-Month Membership card is the best deal if you're gonna dive into the world of PlayStation Plus. You won't regret this purchase. You can also buy multiple years and they will extend the length of your subscription without having to wait for your current subscription to lapse.

You will be receiving not only plenty of perks to back up your console but in order to have access to it all PS+ is the way to go. Not only that buy huge discounts whenever those flash sales arrive on PSN. Not to mention Game Sharing with friends and family who want to play alongside/with you to have a memorable time sharing the same game together but only one person owns the disc, not a problem at all if you become a member!
