It won't let me use any of the benefits of Playstation Plus. When I applied the card to my account in the Playstation Store it still tries to get me to buy Playstation Plus. Pretty annoying. Only reason I recommend it is because you need it to do online games.

Loved PS and still love the PS4, but having to pay for playing online now stinks. Oh well, what do you do? PS4 should let more people know about that up front.

Make sure you use the card right away otherwise someone will steal the amount from your card and Playstation Network will do nothing about it...

It is required to purchase Playstation Plus if you plan on playing games online on the PS4. I think it's irritating that consoles charge for online gaming, seeing as pc games on Steam, Origin and Battlenet are free to play online.

Allows players online/multiplayer access, also has an area to download more games and add-ons. Perhaps because of the limited number of games out its yet to get to its full potential, but essentially a "must have" for those looking to play online.

One of the major selling points Sony Playstation had in their favor was the free online gaming. I at least give them credit for offering free game titles of older platform games. *Not certain but I believe Xbox does not offer free games

It's an online subscription. A little overrated in terms of pricing, as Xbox Live does offer more I believe with their online service. I would avoid paying full price and always waiting until or finding a deal.

With the new ps4 systems you HAVE to buy a psn card to play online in certain games. I'm not a fan of the new policy Playstation has implemented, but if you want to play online with friends, some games require psn access.. :/

Pretty much need this to play most games with friends now since no games really make split screen anymore. Do get free games each month too bad their usually bad indie games not worth the space to download.

If you have a PS4 it is mandatory, but not required for the PS3. A wonderful service though, if you can afford the yearly fee. They offer free games every month as well as discounts on other games for all PlayStation systems.

of cource i had to buy it if i wanted to play omline, so i did when i bought my ps4, and when i started to play the serers kept on crashing. Sony has a long way to go if they want to if they plan on charging for online gaming

It's sad that Sony justifies making us pay for online by giving us a bunch of unwanted indie games, but there's nothing we can do about it. 3 out of 5 stars because the online works alright most of the time.

Good: Necessary for online play, free games Bad: Free games are rarely games worth taking up space on your storage. I think I have one game total on there from the past years worth of free games.

I originally thought you needed this membership to use online features such as Netflix, but have come to realize that's not true. I'm still glad I purchased it for the online experience, but won't be doing it again.

The card is now required for ps4 multiplayer but the games are not very good that they give you. They do not typically offer discounts on the ps cards now the it is required so that is not a very good thing.

It's for playing online and getting the plus benefits on psn sometimes. An alternative to giving out your card number for a renewable payment that sometimes may be forgotten about or unnecessary.

It's terrible now. There USED to be great free games for PS+ members on PS3, but the PS4 selection is just terrible. All we get are plain old arcade games, while PS3 and PS Vita still get retail games since Sony promised them that, but hasn't promised the PS4 this. I hope people don't buy this until Sony sees the error of their ways and actually gives PS4 good games. They've promised one specific retail game to be coming, but it's the "PS+ edition" of the game, which is basically a demo. Don't buy this until Sony actually adds GOOD **RETAIL** games to the PS4's PS+ instant game collection. Thanks

I read a lot of reviews which said it was good deal to get the year subscription. I've obtained one "free" game in about 6 weeks. Other than that, I haven't seen the benefit yet of having the subscription.
