I have been a PS Plus member since it launched in 2010, and have never had to pay full price for the membership. The best part of the membership is the free games, which rotate monthly, and are tied to your account forever once purchased. If your membership expires, you can't play the free games anymore, but you can always re-activate them immediately by renewing for another 3 or 12 months. You also get better discounts on sale-priced games, which do not expire. DLC also does not expire, even if purchased for free. To sweeten the deal even more, 1 PS+ membership can work on PS3, PS4, PS Vita, and/or PSP, though only 2 PS3/PS Vita/PSP can be activated per account (PS4 doesn't count towards the 2 device limit).

It unlocks so much more things for it. It also allows for two free games every month, which is very nice and pays for itself over time.

A little pricey fro something that should be free, but hey what you going do. It's a needed expense and it works well most of the time.

When you buy this you know what you are getting. The only observation is that is a bit hard to find the place to enter the code.

The free games per month are aren't always great but the occasional gems make it worth it. Plus need this for Destiny ;)

Playstation Plus is now a requirement for online multiplayer games on the Playstation Network. My personal reason for being a subscriber is for the free games offered on a monthly basis as well as the additional discounts that are applied for members. I feel that the membership has paid itself off really well in the 6 months of owning it. As an owner of a Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita I have saved a lot of money on discounts and promotions. I will renew my subscription when it expires in the next 6 months. This is highly recommended for anyone new to the Playstation 3 or Playstation Vita hardware.

I'm quite disappointed Playstation (SONY) decided to go this route with the PS4, requiring subscription. For many years, I've played both PS3 and 360 online and I have to say that there is little difference whether you are subscribed or not in terms of a better network or connection with other individuals. Although I'm not a fan of downloading demo's/full games, I do agree that Playstation offers a lot more in incentives for a better gaming experience. It's somewhat understandable since it costs them millions to improve and maintain their servers/applications. I enjoyed playing online for free while it lasted.

Safe way to join ps plus. ps plus members can play online with ps4 and get 6 FREE games every month. 2 for ps4, 2 for ps3 and 2 for psvita. Outstanding!

Been with plus for over 2 years and will remain with plus the services is great and worth the $50, because you get so much more from the price of admission.

I've always had PS+ for the PS3 just for the free PS3 games, DLC, and Vita games but now that it's mandatory for online play on the PS4 many more people will be looking to subscribe to PS+. There isn't much to it, you buy the card and enter the PSN code online/on your playstation and that's about it. You can find it for almost half of at Bestbuy from time to time, and the codes do stack so its a good idea to stock up when they are on sale.

Playstation Plus is basically a must have for PS3 and PS4 owners. In fact, PS Plus is will be required to play most if not all PS4 games online. As a bonus, Playstation Plus subscribers get access to fee games offered monthly. Though not every game offered is a hit, Sony has offered numerous tripe A titles for free on this service. The only downside of this service is that deal seekers will not find many sales on Playstation Plus as compared to Xbox Live. If you catch this on sale, be sure to stack a couple of years on to maximize the savings!

Only regret is that you cannot keep the games once your membership expires, hence 4 stars.

Trying to play more games lately... have Xbox 360 and Xbox Live...also a PS3...got the deal sent to me from Best Buy for Playstation Plus membership for 1 year- it was only $34.99 on sale from $49.99 and I used a $5 credit- net was $29.99...Playstation Plus seems to have a much larger selection of free games- Just picked up the card and downloaded a few things already- impressed too

First lets start with the obvious. You will save $21.97 when purchasing the 1 year subscription versus 4 separate purchases of the 3 month subscription of Sony PS plus at $17.99 I truly love my PS3 and have enjoyed my PS plus subscription. With everything that Sony has promised (Selected free online games, online gaming, discounted games, and more) now would not be a better time to buy. Best Buy made it easy by mailing my subscription at no additional cost.

This service is a must have for all playstation gamers . As a whole it covers a number of Playstation gaming devices , from the PS3 ,the PS vita and the Playstation 4 and it is the best value for an awesome gamer centered service ... In 2016 it is absolutely necessary for you to have a Playstation Plus subcription for your PS4 console. I always check Best Buy around the industry trade shows so that I can get the best deal on extending my membership. PSN gives the best games for free every month to go along with servers for online play that have steadily improved over the past 10 years.
