I needed a small radio to have with me while working. One small enough that I could carry around the shop with me. I read some reviews and this one seemed like it would be good for my needs. When I got to Best Buy, I asked the salesperson if they had one out of the box to listen to. "No", he said. "But if you don't like it, bring it back within 2 weeks for a refund or store credit." I bought it and brought it to work with me. What it lacked in sound quality it didn't make up for by being difficult to tune in to stations. Plus I had trouble picking up a signal from a local station less than 10 miles away. On a better note, I did try listening to it with a set of headphones and it sounded pretty good. Other than that, I was overall very disappointed in this radio. I expected much more from Sony, the pioneer of top quality, good-sounding, small audio devices. I wound up bringing it back to the store and "upgrading" to a radio which is a little bigger for just a little more money ($5) about which I will write a rave review if I am ever asked to review a purchase from Best Buy again.

It's a nice little radio. Seems to be pretty rugged. It's in my pocket most of the time. Only complaint I have is it seems to be rather subject to interference. It seems to be rather directional. It's a good little radio.

This Sony Portable Radio is nothing short of impressive. For around $20 USD, this little guy is a great listening package. -BUILD QUALITY- I was astonished when I opened the box to this device. I do tend to like Sony's products, but the heft this thing has for the price: chef's kiss. The antenna hinge feels premium, and the design language is beautifully simple. I wish the orange tuning line and labelling was a little more precise, but it's more about adjusting the signal by ear than eye. The volume control and on/off/band switch are both placed ergonomically. -SOUND QUALITY- This is perhaps one of the downsides of this little radio. It has very weak bass, but is certainly clear enough to understand the news and the occasional radio ad. Essentially, the sound is okay, and the the music listening experience is just good. Overall, this portable radio absolutely does its job right. It's very competitively priced, and it leaves me with little to desire. It's compact, convenient, and I can recommend this radio to anyone searching for one.

This is an outstanding transistor radio reminiscent of those sold 30-40 years ago. While there are certainly alternatives to this product, it’s use does not consume a battery as would occur in more modern electronic devices. Sound is great through headphones although the product’s greatest asset is its usefulness outdoors when consumer wishes to listen to the radio while doing yard work or performing other tasks with the radio some distance away.

Ordered as a gift and it meets every expectation and more. Perfect size and great reception. Spine is excellent. Just what was wanted!!

Love it little radios way come a long way along good sound for being so little.also the battery lasts a long time

Very convenient and has good sound. I like that it compact to take along and I don't have to use up my data on my phone when I use this in the office.

When the zombie apocalypse happens this is the radio I will use to listen to radio free zombie America. It’s really just a matter of time. No wifi No usb Just got old fashioned battery powered. It was a bit pricey But can u really put a price on piece of mind.

This radio is great to have, hight built quality and can receive many different radio stations. one thing is the antenna can only rotate either right and left side, not 360 degrees. Nice to have.

I brought this radio for my bathroom. It is small, which I like but gives of a great sound. Even better, it is a FM/AM radio.

Transister radio transmits the UH football games perfectly for me. It comfortably fits in my pants pocket.

Sunday is a work day, so I bought this radio to listen to the football games instead of using my phone data, & paying extra for a streaming service. So far so good, I get local games, with no extra fees.

Old fashioned dial battery powered radio. Good if you don't want to use up data. Battery lasts a long time and lightweight.

Good little radio if you are out for a hike or camping. Small and potable for easy travel. Gets good reception

Love this small and light radio. Since I cannot get the Twins games over the internet and cable tv is too expensive for me I have gone back to listening to games on the radio as I did in the 60s. My wife doesn't understand why I bought this when I can listen on Sirius Radio. With this SONY radio I get the live event four seconds earlier than Sirius or cable tv so I am informed before all my buddies.

I love this portable radio. It is basic with no bells and whistles, but produces great sound. The black, monolithic design provides a great style with any decor, too. I purchased this radio to listen before I go to bed and when I wake up. I have since found myself carrying it with me to shave and when I draw. It's all around personal radio and I am extremely glad I purchased it.
