This is a great little radio. Sound is good for the size, reception is great, build quality is great.

My congrats on the AM/FM ON/OFF switch: simple, clean and sturdy enough. That's a very important part on a portable radio. The radio receiver chip must be a good one because reception is good and the band is wide enough to pick up a number of local stations. The design of the case is nice as well: probably so a decent tuning component can be used instead of a cheap capacitor. I had a good radio that I smashed on the ground several times to get it to work. I won't be smashing this one. Thanks.

Wanted old type transistor radio to carry from room to room when needed. Good reception at night from cities 500 to 1000 miles away. Once station is tuned in there is no drifting so do not have to constantly adjust tuner.

Excellent size and sound for AM and FM radio reception. Ear buds also fine. Good to take on walks.

I purchased this portable battery operated radio to go inside my emergency kit. It gets great tuning and uses regular batteries I keep extra in the kit because life happens. Thank you Sony and Best Buy for help keeping me safe!

This is actually a gift for a friend who has a very old AM/FM hand held radio. He's had it forever and will not replace it. I've seen him play with it for hours to find a station, and would even listen to buzzing noise and static if he can hear the station. I got tired of seeing, hearing this...actually felt sorry for him. Anyway, he's picking up all the stations he likes. He's static about this. Good price for the quality and a very satisfied friend.
