Good, inexpensive radio

It works OK for that, but is bigger than I was expecting. I'm looking for a smaller radio still for the same purpose, but will hang on to this for use during inclement weather or when the power goes out.

Elderly Friendly

He loves it. Walks around from the start of his day blasting his favorite stations. I bought him a 5 disc stereo system in his living room and he had issues using the remote etc. The quality sound of the portable radio is good and great for older people.
