The number one reason for choosing these recorders was multiple file types for recording. We had a requirement for compressed audio and the mp3 option met our needs.

You start recording yourself and you sound like almost a robot. Monotone and really almost like a third world recording device. This is definitely not for students trying to take notes. You really have to be having the product almost up to your mouth. Kind of disappointing when you think about technology and where we are. This is so dated and early 2000s quality. I think I can’t even return it because I’m past a 30 day window. And what stinks is I actually paid more money just for the memory card.
