I needed something simple and straight forward that my elderly mother could use. She's starting to forget things so having this to record important conversations, like with her doctor, is helpful. The settings are pretty straight forward and once I had it set up for her, she's had no problems using it. If you want to record a phone conversation with it, put the phone on speaker or hold the recorder to the ear piece. Otherwise, it picks up sound very well.

I needed this in a bind for a small video project. I bought it the day before filming and have never used a digital recorder before...I was easily able to grasp the functionality of the recorder. The quality of sound is clear and it has various sensitivity settings for recording. I used an external mic in filming and I recommend against using the "auto" sensitivity function as the manual settings work best for obtaining the best sound isolation possible. The "auto" setting picked up a lot of background hiss (air conditioning, room echo, outdoors noise, etc.).

horrible equipment. sound quality terrible. super complicated to try and figure out how to save and retrieve. Waste of money. should have returned it for a better one. very disappointed

purchased this recorder for $49.15 total plus tax and immediately set it up so I can use it for my school lectures. The next night, I listened to the lecture I recorded and the playback is amazing! It also has two options for clear voice. The recording is phenomenal and so is the built in USB. The built in USB saves my life and also space. It's very convenient! I am very impressed with sony's creation. Recommended this to a friend of mine who also experienced the clearance of the voice from the recordings!

Easy to use and with few pressing you achieve what you need , good sound, intuitive, light in weight. Totally recommend to a friend or family member.

Doesn't have backlight, so it can't be read in the dark. The beep noise when pressing buttons can be disabled for silent usage. Can record up to 159 hours in mono mode. External memory can be added. mp3 files can be uploaded or downloaded, or deleted for clearing memory space. You might need external mic for music if you want a quality recording (1/8" jack). Also has headphone jack. Easy to use, and lots of optional functions I don't use. AAA batteries included, USB interface for computer. 4.5" tall, easily fits in pocket.

Just what I was looking for, the ordering and pick up process took less than 4 hours and checkout was swift, will definitely order again if not available on shelf. The device itself is great and does what I needed it to.

I have only used it twice but it was great. I used it to record 10hours I was away from the house and dogs were alone. :) . It did not drain the battery and you can re-play at different speeds. Hopefully will last for a long time. Will try other uses

Works as intended, especially for a small compact and sleeper device. While the audio-playback may be tinny, this product is suitable for voice notes, conference calls, and recording reminders. Go figure, four stars for the win!

Great little voice recorder. I had one before and loved it. This one is almost identical with one added feature that makes it super easy to download recordings onto computer.

Very similar to one I already owned, however, the instructions were not very clear on how to do certain functions. Would have given a 5 star if the instructions were more clear.

It is a good product. Fits in the palm of your hand is rechargeable.
