I suggest putting the camera in airplane mode before going out to shoot as it will really deplete the battery if left on. Like I said, always smart to have an extra battery.

Although after market batteries are much cheaper, it comes at the expense of faster power depletion and incompatibilty issues. Don't let your workflow suffer, go with an original Sony battery.

The Sony A7ii doesn't have great battery life so a backup battery was needed. I can easily make it through a full day now with 2 batteries and not have to worry about it.
