This battery is the standard battery pack used by many of Sony's DSLT/DSLR cameras. While you can certainly go to a third-party manufacturer to save some money, it's important to remember that camera batteries are precision devices that can damage a camera if it malfunctions. Cheap batteries often don't charge as quickly or fully, hold a charge as long nor offer the right chips to report battery life correctly to the camera's diagnostic systems. It's worth the extra cost to insure that you get a battery that works properly and won't damage your expensive camera.

I looked at the off-brand products and decided that for the difference in cost, buying the over-priced Sony battery was worth the risk.

It’s alwaya great to have extra batteries for a camera, and especially when you have a double pack battery grip.

It is nearly a "must have" . If you plan on shooting a lot of pictures or just don't want to risk your camera running out of juice right when a great shot presents its self, have at least one back up battery.

I bought this battery as a backup for my Sony camera. We had used several times and worked well. It was on sale when I bought it.

My sony A5000 lasts more than a day with this battery. I have never had a camera last so long taking pictures and videos

It's a small battery, but despite that, it is a very reliable small battery. I got this one as an extra for my Sony a6000.

got both as spares before an international trip, only had to use the battery which worked as it should - disappointed in pricing in store, was cheaper on line but had to go back in to get $60 difference in pricing refunded -

Always carry extra batteries with me and this holds charge just as good as the original.
