Whether it be for vacation or professional use, you will surely need more than one. I actually have 4. I can shoot pics and a few short videos and I still get concerned about battery life for the day.

You can get 3rd party batteries that perform the exact same for a fraction of the price. Do your homework! Other than that the Sony battery performs as any stock battery should.

I also have camera that takes fz1000 batteries and they last much longer.
