A second batter is a must

You may not be able to recharge since it takes about five hours to fully charge the battery so a spare one can save the day.

Good but expensive

I got this battery and a generic. at about the same time. Both work ok now. Time will tell whether the Sony battery is worth the high price. I intend to re-review after seeing how the generic battery compares. Anynoe know a reliable source of info about the self-discharge rate of camera batteries?

Spare battery

Purchase more than one

Whether it be for vacation or professional use, you will surely need more than one. I actually have 4. I can shoot pics and a few short videos and I still get concerned about battery life for the day.
