The battery lasts awhile but I like to have a back up...so I purchased one. Works well, just annoyed Sony wants $50 bucks for a charger to charge this outside of the camera.

I almost bought a third party battery and am glad I did not. Even though the Sony brand battery cost more, it holds a charge longer than the third party, cheaper batteries.

Would always recommend to go with the manufacturer's battery over most 3rd party batteries. Does what it's supposed to and lasts as long as I need it to.

This is a true Sony battery and not some cheap knockoff. The battery life will take some 400 shots before recharging. They do take time to recharge so a seperate charger will be usefull.

This is expensive, about double the price of third party batteries but it gives you peace of mind knowing that this is specifically made for your camera.

If you need an additional battery for your Sony, then get this one. Original battery will always last longer than cheaper one. Plus the price difference is but that great

I purchased this battery when I bought the camera and I'd have to say it was worth it. I never have to worry about running out of battery life on my camera! Size quality and overall it is great!

If you have a Sony camera that uses these batteries I recommend you get multiple. the cameras kill them, but they are much higher quality than off brand

I have replacement batteries bit this battery cannont be compared with them. Original Batteries last longer and wont shut down on you during shoot without warning.

I recently bought this extra battery as a back up but I usually don't need it for the amount of time I spend on my camera. It lasts for quite some time so I can't complain.

When you are on a adventure and away from power source to charge your battery, This will come in real handy. Very helpful to continue capturing the beauty around you.

Same model Sony battery that came with my A5100 and A6300 (although now Made in China than Made in Japan). Seems to hold charge well like the original battery and still better than the non-OEM variety. Worth the extra cost over the generic brands.

The Sony NP-FW50 battery supplied in the Sony ILCE-A7RM2 Full Frame Mirrorless Camera has a reputation for a limited battery charge time. That's a shame because this Sony camera has a reputation for being another great, new technology and trend setting Sony product. What can one do? Simple, purchase 1 or 2 spare batteries. Caution: This battery is available on-line for half price, but do you feel lucky, they are most certainly Sony knock-offs. If you are in the market for a NP-FW50 battery, purchase it from a reputable source like Best Buy.
