Some music sounds better than others on this unit. Sometimes the high frequencies seem missing and the middle frequencies seem a bitt muddy, while the bass can sometimes seem heavy, especially at higher volumes. It would have helped if there were equalizer (bass and treble) controls, which this unit does not have.

Battery life is awesome, too. Since that event, we’ve taken it all kinds of places and it’s been great. Definitely an excellent speaker for the price and miles better than any of the cheaper Bluetooth speakers we’ve purchased in the past.

My son lost one when his truck was on fire and we quickly replaced. We use it kayaking and even throw it in the river. It floats and continues to play. It also works all day on the river, so I would say excellent battery life. The sound quality is amazing and is one of the loudest we have found. Trust me, buy this speaker!

Several cons: No 3.5mm in (I know that's antiquated, but for certain applications it's a must-have), hard to keep clean in dirty environments, voice notifications (batter life, connections, etc.) really annoying. I can live with these grievances, but in the future I'll probably get the bigger version.

We're truly glad that you like its incredible features, especially the amazing sound, easy Bluetooth pairing, and great battery life. We're sorry, but this unit doesn't feature an AUDIO IN jack. It is a Bluetooth only model. If you want to play music, you can use your smartphone and connect it via Bluetooth connection. However, our XG300 features an aux input jack for connecting devices via a 3.5mm audio cable.
By using “Sony | Music Center,” you can activate/deactivate the voice guidance associated with the remaining battery power that you hear when you turn on the speaker.
