Please note that the Rear speaker plays surround sound as part of the multi-channel sound or processed from the 2-channel sound. However, because of the characteristics of the rear speaker, the sound may be low depending on the playback source. To ensure that you are getting the most out of your SA-RS3S and connected audio system, make sure to run Sound Field Optimization so that the soundbar can calibrate its performance to your environment, and that it sounds like it was engineered to be in your room. While it may not be the best experience these guys to a good job of adding space to movies that are 5.1 and higher. Just like the sun this connects seamlessly to my A7000 sound bar.

Did not like the sound of the a5000 or the a7000 sound bar they went with, so had to return. My only complaint was the M5 thread mounting hole is not very common for speaker mounts and had to modify the speaker mount I bought to get it to work. Wish they just went with the more common 1/4”-20 mounting thread size. Removed 1 star for this. I wish Sony made it so I can connect several of these speakers to the tv, and not need the sound bar since the tv speakers can be used for the center channel. If they made it so you can connect as many as you want around the room and add a subwoofer or two, that would be so much better. And just have the speaker calibration built into the tv software. Then you can keep adding onto the overall sound system over time.
