Very easy to set-up and I like the way you can adjust the volume level with the HTA7000 remote. The wireless feature eliminates cord issues and gives you true 7.1 2 surround sound. The sound quality is spectacular. No need for a separate dedicated surround sound amp.

Good addition to the HT-A5000

These SA-RS3S's really make a difference to the sound quality. Although they do seem quiet at first, even with the rear speakers turned up to max. It does depend on the source audio and whether there is an ample quality sound level on that rear channel. Definitely get these on some stands and at ear level and then run the sound optimizer. Widens the sound field substantially.

Needs more power

It is nice that the only cord that I have to deal with is the power cord. I wished this speaker could be louder. The volume is already set to the highest level and I think the surround sound could use a few more decibels up.

They sound nice but I wish the volume could be adjusted more than the remote allows. They are on either side of a love seat but I can only hear the speaker I'm closest to.

Ok for surround but not a great match w\soundbar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.On the plus side they pair easily with the Sony HT-A 5000/7000 series sound bars. The issue comes in that they do not get loud enough and you have to do a lot of tweaking to really enjoy surround sound with them. Also they do not support Dolby Atmos. The real knock I have against them is that tonally they do not match the sound bar at all. The sound is much thinner and higher pitches which really detracts from the surround experience. On the other hand, their big brothers the SA-RS5's are a perfect match tonally and do have a bit better output plus they are Dolby Atmos capable. Whether the additional cost is worth it to anyone is a pretty individual thing though.

They do need to be plugged in but once done so- they are immediately recognized by both the Sony tv and Soundbar They work great. I once had the traditional Yamaha receiver with Infinity Tower side speakers with built in subs and the Infinity center and rear speakers. For some reason the rear speakers - although costly— never did produce much sound. I was surprised how well these Sony wireless did sound As I stated in my previous review- the Sony 7000 Soundbar came alive once I both added the Sony Sub along with using the provided mini cable to allow the great TV speakers in their Oled Tv to enhance the center channel of the Soundbar. The same is true after adding the rear speakers. The whole system took another leap forward. If you are spending the money to have Sonys best system then you do need to add these rear speakers. There are times now when watching a movie I have seen many times where I am completely surprised by the action happening behind me and all around me

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The HTA7000 Soundbar can produce surround sound all by itself but it can be dependant on your room layout and good ATMOS or DTS content. I had the Soundbar as standalone and then added the rear surrounds. These don't have upfiring drivers but they sound great and truelly create an immersive experience without the worry of the hit and miss of sounds bouncing just right. These surrounds also allow you to experiencing surround at low audio levels because the standalone bar usually works best at higher audio levels to bounce sound. If you don't have the money for the surrounds you can always add them later. For me, I purchased a Sony TV along with the Soundbar and opened up the best buy card that gave 10% back with the package. When the reward points became available I used them to get the surrounds for pretty much no cost. Although the Soundbar did a great job all by itself, when I added the surrounds it was a night and day difference. The build quality is very good and the speakers look premium. I just wished the power cords were longer. The speakers paired up with the Soundbar automatically when plugged in and the surround audio levels become unlocked so you can increase their volume.

Great rear speakers for Sony system

My first impression was how lightweight they are, very easy to mount on a wall if possible. Once plugged in, they are immediately ready to link with the sound bar, just hit the link button on the back and go through the setup process on the sound bar's tv menu. That's it, took two minutes to do. I have mine about 6 feet behind my sofa. I ran the room optimization tool on the sound bar and put them to the test. They sound amazing watching movies with Dolby Atmos. Clear, crisp and the perfect amount of sound to enhance the room. They are not to my liking for playing music however, but I don't think they are meant for that. I turn off the Immersive AE mode for music which cuts out the rears. If you have a good spot to place them, these are a must add on for the A7000.

I never though the rear speakers would elevate my sound stage because of my past experience with another brand's setup. But I will tell you this. This has blown my expectation away. The previous brand I had is LG and all you do is pair the system up and go. The Sony system, you could do that but it won't sound great until you do the calibration. After that is done, boom, it sounds like a proper home theater system. Setup was a bit difficult. The auto link function didn't work properly out of the box. I had to go the soundbar setting and pair everything manually and I had to re-pair my sub as well. Maybe a firmware update can fix that. I've seen reviews saying that they can barely hear any audio from the rear speakers. What most people don't know about surround sound is that it's suppose to be more of an "effect" sound, like a airplane flying by or explosion. It's not suppose to replicate what's playing from the main channels at full volume. Overall, I'm very impress with Sony's implementation and calibration. I think moving forward, Sony will be my go to soundbar.
