The combination is really outstanding and have no complaints. But because of the great deal I got, I later added the rear speakers. WOW! These take the whole experience over the top! I feel like I'm sitting dead center at the theater. The sound is absolutely incredible!

Plus the wireless surrounds that DO have up firing drivers is even more obnoxiously expensive. Loses a star for price.

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went all in with the Sony A90J tv and then the HTA 7000 Soundbar and The SW5 sub Lastly added these rear speakers which I Put on stands. They do need to be plugged in but once done so- they are immediately recognized by both the Sony tv and Soundbar They work great. I once had the traditional Yamaha receiver with Infinity Tower side speakers with built in subs and the Infinity center and rear speakers. For some reason the rear speakers - although costly— never did produce much sound. I was surprised how well these Sony wireless did sound As I stated in my previous review- the Sony 7000 Soundbar came alive once I both added the Sony Sub along with using the provided mini cable to allow the great TV speakers in their Oled Tv to enhance the center channel of the Soundbar. The same is true after adding the rear speakers. The whole system took another leap forward. If you are spending the money to have Sonys best system then you do need to add these rear speakers. There are times now when watching a movie I have seen many times where I am completely surprised by the action happening behind me and all around me

Absolutely incredible surround immersivenes

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The HTA7000 Soundbar can produce surround sound all by itself but it can be dependant on your room layout and good ATMOS or DTS content. I had the Soundbar as standalone and then added the rear surrounds. These don't have upfiring drivers but they sound great and truelly create an immersive experience without the worry of the hit and miss of sounds bouncing just right. These surrounds also allow you to experiencing surround at low audio levels because the standalone bar usually works best at higher audio levels to bounce sound. If you don't have the money for the surrounds you can always add them later. For me, I purchased a Sony TV along with the Soundbar and opened up the best buy card that gave 10% back with the package. When the reward points became available I used them to get the surrounds for pretty much no cost. Although the Soundbar did a great job all by itself, when I added the surrounds it was a night and day difference. The build quality is very good and the speakers look premium. I just wished the power cords were longer. The speakers paired up with the Soundbar automatically when plugged in and the surround audio levels become unlocked so you can increase their volume.

I never though the rear speakers would elevate my sound stage because of my past experience with another brand's setup. But I will tell you this. This has blown my expectation away. The previous brand I had is LG and all you do is pair the system up and go. The Sony system, you could do that but it won't sound great until you do the calibration. After that is done, boom, it sounds like a proper home theater system. Setup was a bit difficult. The auto link function didn't work properly out of the box. I had to go the soundbar setting and pair everything manually and I had to re-pair my sub as well. Maybe a firmware update can fix that. I've seen reviews saying that they can barely hear any audio from the rear speakers. What most people don't know about surround sound is that it's suppose to be more of an "effect" sound, like a airplane flying by or explosion. It's not suppose to replicate what's playing from the main channels at full volume. Overall, I'm very impress with Sony's implementation and calibration. I think moving forward, Sony will be my go to soundbar.

Good addition to the HT-A5000

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these to go with the HT-A5000 Sony soundbar (didn't feel it necessary to pay 600+ for the SA-RS5's for this sound bar). These SA-RS3S's really make a difference to the sound quality. Although they do seem quiet at first, even with the rear speakers turned up to max. It does depend on the source audio and whether there is an ample quality sound level on that rear channel. Definitely get these on some stands and at ear level and then run the sound optimizer. Widens the sound field substantially.

However, because of the characteristics of the rear speaker, the sound may be low depending on the playback source. To ensure that you are getting the most out of your HT-A5000, make sure to run Sound Field Optimization so that the soundbar can calibrate its performance to your environment, and that it sounds like it was engineered to be in your room. Great rear speakers for Sony system

My first impression was how lightweight they are, very easy to mount on a wall if possible. Once plugged in, they are immediately ready to link with the sound bar, just hit the link button on the back and go through the setup process on the sound bar's tv menu. That's it, took two minutes to do. I have mine about 6 feet behind my sofa. I ran the room optimization tool on the sound bar and put them to the test. They sound amazing watching movies with Dolby Atmos. Clear, crisp and the perfect amount of sound to enhance the room. They are not to my liking for playing music however, but I don't think they are meant for that. I turn off the Immersive AE mode for music which cuts out the rears. If you have a good spot to place them, these are a must add on for the A7000.

Rear Speakers for HT-A7000 Soundbar

It made a significant difference. We already owned the Sony XR85X95J television and enjoy the entire system. One remote controls everything and the rear speakers and subwoofer are wireless. Just turn on the TV with the TV remote and control everything.

These wireless rear speakers come with an AC power cords (mains lead) as they need to be plugged into the wall outlet. They do not have a built-in battery.
You might want also to check our SA-RS5 wireless rear speakers with built-in battery for HT-A7000/HT-A5000/HT-A3000. Designed to be flexible to your environment, no wires and internal batteries mean these speakers can be used completely cable free, or with AC power, whichever you like.

Creates good surround sound from the Sony soundbars. It was built for easy connection to the soundbars. Sony sound calibrations was very easy, soundbar also allows manual equalizer controls on the surround sound speakers.
