Wanted to continue that "Immersive" experience by at least adding the sub for now. Got it delivered and proceeded to set up. My HT-A5000 recognized it immediately and proceeded to update the software. After that it was all downhill. No matter what I tried, I had no output sound from the sub. I tried several times to perform the sound optimization, and it failed every time. My connection status showed that it was connected but never heard anything. I tried a manual setup with all of the test tones, and when it got to the sub, silence. I'm sure this is a decent product, but this experience has turned me off. I had to do a reset on the HT-A5000 so it would forget the connection to the sub and put out it's normal "built in" sub tones. **Note** when the system thought the sub was connected/working, there were hardly any low tones at all coming from the sound bar. Sounded terrible. I'm back to ground zero, so I'm just going to be happy with the sound bar itself. Sorry.

Posted .Hi Chachi, We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your SASW3 paired with your HTA5000. We'd love to troubleshoot the problem and make this a better experience for you. In the meantime, please try these steps to isolate and troubleshoot the issue.
Press SW Audio + or BASS + on the remote control of a compatible model to increase the subwoofer volume.
-Make sure that the power indicator on the subwoofer is lit in green.
-If the power indicator on the subwoofer does not light, try the following.
– Make sure the AC power cord (mains lead) of the subwoofer is connected properly.
– Press (power) of the subwoofer to turn on the power.
-If the power indicator on the subwoofer flashes slowly in green or lights in red, try the following.
– Move the subwoofer to a location near a compatible model so that the power indicator on the subwoofer lights in green.
– Follow the steps in “If the Connection is not
Established Automatically.” on our operating instructions link: https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/5011/6345aec096c17cd278f2b9eb62cdc620/50115301M.pdf
– Check the wireless connection status. For details, refer to the Operating Instructions supplied with
a compatible model.
- If the power indicator on the subwoofer flashes in red, press (power) of the subwoofer to turn off
the power and check whether the ventilation holes of the subwoofer is blocked or not.
- If the input sources contain very little bass sound components (i.e., a TV broadcast), the sound from the subwoofer may be difficult to hear. You can check the subwoofer sound by emitting the test tone.
-Set the night mode to off. For details, refer to the Operating Instructions supplied with a compatible
model.
-If you change the [RF Channel] setting from [Off] to [On], it may take 1 minute for the sound to be
output.

Nice slinder Sub

I have to have it facing straight out because of room set up but there is still bass as it blends in with the rest of the sound. Definitely if facing forward dont expect it to be a window rattler.

Great sound until it died after two weeks

After a bunch of online reading, I discovered a lot of other people had the same problem with this model. Thankfully, I bought a protection plan so hopefully the next one will work. Full disclosure, this was a Best Buy open box purchase. It was considered excellent condition, but perhaps it was returned for this reason.

Great low end in the living room
