doesn't come with a charger. can't increase volume while charging. short battery life. sound quality mediocre. limited volume.

I don't recommend this product and for me hardly it holds charge for 1 hour even after 8 hours of full charge.

Wow... the first time I heard my music through the speaker I was amazed. The bass and deep sounds are incredible. Sony hit a homerun this time. It has a quirky feature where you can enable sounds when you tap the speaker, so you can "jam" along with the music and add your own extra drum beat for instance. Not sure how practical it is, but kind of cool. My kids like playing along. You do seem to have to download the sony app to get it to sync with your phone, I am using an Apple iPhone 8. But honestly, that was not a big deal and ever since it connects no problem. Good size if you want to carry it around, not too big. I use it in the yard and it sounds amazing when I am outside doing yard work.

Do not buy this speaker. I had mine for almost two years and it wont hold a charge.

When the battery gets low, so does the music. It’s an annoyance.

i have only had this speaker for less than 2 years and it has already crashed. On top of that, the battery life is not as long as they claim. At its highest volume it will last for 2 hours tops, then turn about half way down and last about 6 hours. Its portable charger is very slow, regardless of the battery charge it is on.

This speaker lasted less than a month before we started having problems with the battery charging. It would reflect fully charged but as soon as the charger was disconnected it would be at 20%.

this little speaker has some great range nice crisp and the bass is nice. Bluetooth is super easy washing it storing it is a breeze as well it is an overall great little speaker

I got two (2) of these to connect to my Sony TV. My TV is set high on the wall, and volume control was difficult. Too low and I could not hear the dialogue. If I could hear the dialogue, the action scenes were too loud After combing the Sony site, I figured out how to sync the speaker to the TV using bluetooth, then tethered the speakers Now when I turn on the speakers, the TV auto switches (and back when off) providing clear sound and dialogue without overpowering us The speakers are nice and discrete, great highs and lows and provide plenty of volume to satisfy everyone in the family

The smallest option in this Sony speaker lineup...has decent sound and is extremely portable. Decent battery life although far less than the bigger speaker in this series.

Out of the box this speaker was easy to connect via Bluetooth to my phone. It is made out of decent materials and feels well constructed. I have tested many speakers and usually the smaller ones do not have the best sound quality. This is not the case with this speaker. It packs a big punch with all the right sounds. One of the coolest features is that if you download the App you are able to tap certain parts of the speaker to replicate percussion and drum sounds. The battery life on the speaker is one of the better for its size too which is a bonus for portability.

It says 12 hours last. But it only lasts 2 hours and than starts saying batter low battery low recharge why the music playing and it enables me from increasing the volume

It was really easy to setups this speaker and the sound is great via Bluetooth. Being water resistant is a great plus - making a good speaker great.

The XB-21 is a great little speaker for travel. It’s a nice looking unit, and the shape makes it simple to carry. Right out of box, pairing is simple, and adding additional sources requires only a long press of the power button. The sound is clear and balanced, although you may want to reset the equalizer on your phone to reduce the bass, as the XB-21 defaults to boosting it. This unit minimizes the boxy sound many other small portables have, delivering a nice, clear sound field. An excellent product at a reasonable price. Well done, Sony,

I own 3 of these (a black XB21 and a red XB41) The Sony XB21 white speaker is the firm favorite in the house. We connect them all together with the Party Chain (what Sony calls their networking system for speakers) and use them when entertaining on our deck. Battery life of the XB21 is 12 hours. The thing to love is that the XB21 is waterproof which is super important in a portable speaker as you want to be able to take them indoor and out without a worry.
