I usually love Sony products but I have not owned this speaker for very long and it already stopped charging. What a waste of money!

Worked for first few weeks then wouldn’t connect to Bluetooth on any device I had or I even tried on a friends device. Ended up thrashing it

I've tested quite a few bluetooth speakers and have found them to be quite limited in sound since you rarely can chain together speakers to distribute around oneself like you can with wired speakers. That has changed. This is a portable, battery powered speaker which also has a limited light show capability; having the larger version at hand that is newer and has a broader and more fascinating light show, I wasn't distressed as I treated the SONY SRS-SBX31 - "31" model as the primary speaker and this "21" as a secondary speaker. Having selected the "31" speaker as the primary speaker, I chained these two speakers together by selecting the "wpc" button - first on the "31" and then on the "21" speaker (the smaller one I am reviewing here), and after a while the sound was coming from BOTH speakers! I say a while because it took longer than expected and I thought it hadn't worked at first. The quality of the sound is very good and you can adjust the volume on this speaker (and the primary one) independently. If you are looking for a companion to the "31" speaker, t his provides a wonderful and less expensive addition for a sound to surround you - not just coming at you. I highly recommend this on its own or paired with another SONY speaker that has the WPC chaining feature.

It only lastson the bass for two hours and then it lowers down. I bought it because it claimed to last long and it didn’t. My mom has. A cheaper one and works for four hours at least.

The batery discharse so quickly. Is not a good product from sony. I hace to br charging constantly. It is so bad.

This might be a nice speaker but mine lasts maybe one hour and falsely says up to 12.

Bought for my daughter as a gift but the battery doesn't last long and the volume dies down when battery is low.

This item can’t play loud if it has less than 50% charg. And it’s also difficult to find the Bluetooth

Great portable speaker. It's compact enough to fit in a purse, small bag or backpack. It's water resistant so can be used in the rain or while boating with no fear of getting damaged. You can also Daisy chain it with more speakers. It can be also used as a battery pack. Will highly recommend it!

Did not have the bass it claimed to have.. and sounded like it was dying the first time used.

Speakr loasy about 4 hours then like anther 4 hours just charging so I'm going to return it

The sound quality is very good out of such a small speaker. I was instantly impressed. Batter life is good not the best but works for an on the go speaker. The only thing i could liv3 without would be the lights. They seem a little tacky for my liking and take away from the nice blue color.

Pairing the speaker was quick and easy. I like the idea of being able to daisy chain this model but that is possible with use of the app as are other features. The speaker feels well built and has some heft to it. The volume can go surprisingly high in my opinion for a speaker of thus suze and it does not seem to lose clarity at higher volume levels. One thing I noticed though is that the bass does not seem as prominent at higher levels as it does at lower volume. I did not really detect a "3D" type sound at any vilume level but placement of the speaker affected the acoustics, as expected. The speaker has four tiny rubber feet that it sits on but they seem not spaced widely enough as the speaker easily tips. I am not sure how to turn the speaker off. It turned itself off after some time but pressin/holding the power button in did nothing and I wish I had control over this. Overall, I do like the speaker for its ability to play loudly, daisy chaining capabilities, and quality of build.

It doesn't stay charge not even for in hour and he told me it would be a 12 hour charge

Small but not too small pill shaped speaker with seeming holes for sound to come out on every side, very attractive looking portable speaker. I'm not going to pretend to be a good judge of what is quality sound, but for me the sound is more than acceptable.

Holds charge for 45 minutes maximum . Will be returning

The sound quality and range of this product is fantastic. The lights are not too obtrusive to block sleeping, and actually pair pretty well when listening to a thunderstorm through a white noise app. It feels sturdy yet light. As for the issues, it's doesn't always pair well with computers running bluetooth (sometimes not at all). These pairing attempts were made without downloading the app the device suggests, but other devices worked just fine without the app. Another issue is that the auto-shutoff during bluetooth operation has never once worked on the unit I received. It's listed as 15 minutes without activity will shut it down, but as I said, that has never actually worked for me. That obviously cuts down on use time between charges. Overall, it's still a good product, and I would recommend it.

One week old cannot keep a charge even when plugged in.
