Advertised for 12 hours of life. However, only 8 continuous hours at a moderate volume before volume is powered down at 20% battery life to 0%. Disappointing overall experience with unadvertised “volume power down” at 20% battery life.

Sony has always been the pioneer in audio systems and speakers. They have proved it again. I have been using XB21 for a while and it has been amazing. This speaker XB22 is not much different from the 21 besides the outer appearance. XB 21 has more of a rough finish, but this one has a matte finish and softer on the outside which makes it more elegant. Plus the equalizer that I am not a great fan of as it is not so useful. Setup is super easy - just press and hold the power button and connect to Bluetooth on the phone or laptop. Sony has always kept it very easy. Sound quality is amazing on the speaker. Great bass and treble. Pressing the battery button once on the rear side announces the level every time we turn on the speaker. This helps us know when it needs to be charged. Battery lasts for at least a week. I use it couple hours everyday. Party chain Option gives us the ability to connect to multiple Sony speakers that have the feature. This is a really good option. Overall, I love the speaker as it is a great product and I would recommend this to anyone. Worth the money.

It's a very good speaker but doesn't have the best bass

This portable speaker is a nice size for taking on the go, small enough to take along, large enough to give a great sound. The extra bass works nicely, deep and rich. The party booster is a fun addition, especially if you have multiples. Just tap and you can add your own drum sounds to the songs. Lighting is white only, I wish it had the multiple colors, but it works as it should. The connection has been my only problem with this speaker. It sometimes takes turning the speaker off and restarting to get it to connect to BT. Connecting to a compatible speaker was a practice in patience. I was able to finally connect with party chain after multiple attempts. The instructions included were minimal. Once connected though it worked very well. Sound and lights were in sync even when in different rooms. Being waterproof, dustproof and shockproof gives peace of mind when using outdoors and in a crowded party. I really like this speaker. I feel the connection problems warrant no more than 1/2 star so I've decided to keep my rating at a 5. I'll be using this portable speaker often.

Purchased the 41, 32 and 22. They won't link together by Bluetooth which sucks but they will connect with the other linking system. Would not buy again because they does not link with Bluetooth. Overall average.

This is a good speaker and served its time in a detail shop, but I bought a Charge 4 that works much better. You cannot turn it up all the way without distortion.
