It had to much bass you can turn it off but then it doesn't have enough volume

The display speaker sounded good in the store but my unit seemed to distort, especially in the low end. Also, the sound seemed to fade in and out like there was some interference or a weak signal. Tried it with multiple devices and the problems reported were verified by other listeners. Returned after 5 days or so.

It does what it's meant to do, just the bass makes the sound not so good.

Advertises 10 hours of battery life but it’s actually 2. Hate that

This can be a great stand-alone speaker or part of a series of "party" speakers! The sound is fantastic and adjustable via the mobile application! The battery life is really good and you can stand the speaker on end or lay it flat! It connects to other Sony speakers so they play in "party mode", and has adjustable flashing lights for a party atmosphere. Long battery life and water resistance only make it better!

Not as good as it seemed in the store. It also has to be changed up to often.

Overall, I was impressed by the SRS-XB22, here are some highlights that are worth mentioning: 1. Good Sound Quality. The Sony has Clean sound at lower levels and still sounds good when the volume is all the way up. This is especially useful in noisy environments. 2. Lightweight and easy to take with you. Weighing in at slightly above one pound, it doesn’t become a burden to take it with you to your next party, trip to the local park, or to indoors to listen to something quieter. 3. Works great outside. The sound is loud enough to be heard from a considerable distance away. I used mine at a backyard party and everybody thought it sounded pretty good. The Live mode enhances the sound quality further, for a more enveloping sound. 4. Compatible with Sony's party mode, so you can use it with other Sony speakers in this category. Unfortunately, to have stereo sound, you need two of the same model number. However, party mode is a good compromise and it stays in sync over Bluetooth with relatively no issues. 5. IP67 protection, in case of an accident, it can be submerged up to 30 minutes in approximately 3m of water. Also dustproof, if using it in a dirty environment, such as a garage, or a workshop. 6. My only complaint would be that It's a bit of a fingerprint magnet, compared to SRS-XB21 (previous year model). While the finish is not "piano black" glossy or even glossy, it has to be wiped clean if it has been handled a lot. I like this speaker and I feel like the SRS-XB22 is capable of standing on its own, paired with another SRS-XB22 for stereo sound, and almost seamlessly blending in with other Sony products that feature their "Party Mode".

Battery becomes weak after a year. Sound quality ok.

I love this speaker, it is very loud and you can’t believe it’s from a little speaker. Sounds much better than my UE boom and lights up which is a plus. I only wish the lights were colorful, but other than that it doesn’t really bother me. I also wish the buttons in the back of the speaker were better labeled because I can’t really tell what they are for and I have to keep looking at the instructions to see which button is which.

Sound quality is not that good. I have had better speakers.

Battery charge life is horrible. Didn’t last for even an hour. Also when it’s on the charger with a low battery the volume drops down and there’s no way to turn it up. You would think that you could listen to it while charging but no. Hard to see the controls since they are black on a black background. I returned it an got another brand of speaker.

The sound from the Sony SRS-XB2x series continues to be excellent for its size and price. The sound specs are identical to last year’s model, and I could not tell any difference in sound quality from the two. Sony’s Music Center app lets you control the speaker’s functionality for equalizer, lights, power, battery level announcement and more. It also lets you chain Sony speakers together to create an encompassing sound for a party. Like other Sony portable speakers, you can tap the speaker to make different sounds like scratch, snare, drum and cowbell. That’s a fun little gimmicky feature that I'm sure doesn’t get used much, but it’s there. The biggest update from prior models is the IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating (last year’s model was only water resistant). That means you can drop it in water – even saltwater – and it won’t get damaged. If you’re looking for a small portable, rugged bluetooth speaker with decent sound, this one is worth it.
