With the compact size of this speaker I did not expect such a powerful sound. It was loud and clear as if it was part of a large sound system. It was extremely easy to hook the bluetooth up. The live sound feature is pretty awesome. The light changes speed and style based on the music which was neat, just wish it had a little more light or the ability to change colors. The cover for the power connection and some of the additional buttons is very heavy duty and seems like it should keep any moisture or dirt out. I like that you can hook up multiple units and sync them so they are all playing the same thing at the same time though I doubt I will ever reach the 100 speaker limit! Overall it is a well built unit that is compact and lightweight. Nice to know we can take it to the lake and creek this summer and have music with out having to worry about it getting wet!

I have the srs xb41 andIt’s amazing. This one is terrible. The sound quality is not good. The bass mode on it makes it have a scratchy sound. Don’t buy this

This portable bluetooth speaker has great sound, but dies very quick. Takes long to charge, and for what. Definitely looking into other options.

This speaker takes so long to charge and you get little play time for it. Returned it after two days of having it. Definitely better speakers out there.

Speaker quotes a 12 hour battery life on the box. 1st charge lasted 3 1/2 hours and 2nd charge lasted a petty 90 minutes. When the battery runs low the volume is reduced by 90% prompting a voice over to charge battery if you try turn the volume up. For $100 this is a junk speaker. Returned it after 2 days. Got a JBL clip 3 instead.

Really liked the sound quality. The app that supports it's works great as well. However the battery life was awful.

There are a lot of pill form-factor portable bluetooth speakers on the market. Sony tries to stand out by adding a "EXTRA BASS" label on the box and a couple gimmicky features. The bass and overall sound sounded at least on par with many of the other speakers in it's class, which is to say it isn't bad at all. The lights are kind of cool for a little extra fun, but also can get annoying. Fortunately they're easy to turn off and stay off until you specifically turn them back on. The party mode is kind of silly (will play silly sound effects when shaken or tapped), and I don't see anyone regularly using that feature. Other than that if you're familiar with other Sony speakers and the Music Center app, then you probably know what to expect here.

Great sound quality, battery completely died after only a few months of use

Not impressed with this product, it is finicky when connecting and doesn’t have an auto shutdown to preserve the battery.

Sound isn’t real loud. Purchased to chain with other Sony external speaker and didn’t work so suck.

I regretted when I bought it. I wish I could have more time to get it returned. The battery consumes a lot of energy for a short period of use. Volume sucks and it goes automatically down even if it's fully charged. Bluetooth pairing fails sometimes. Don't buy this brand for a speaker of this size. Really bad product.

i purchased this speakker and was so excited about getting and when i tried to pair it .....it would not work so i looked over the guide and it is made for iphone ......well no where did it specify on the best buy website did it say that it was for apple products..............i have a galaxy

Has poor battery life so isn't really useful away from an outlet.

I know they stopped making new speakers but the audio quality is actually better than i thought for 90 bucks (sonys website) and its a hand me down but still pretty good battery life for being a daily driver

Works most of the time, does cut out every 3-4 hours of operations.

Worst bluetooth speaker ever. Spends more time on charger than being used. Barely gets 2 hours of playtime without the lights on before needing to be charged again. Dont buy this garbage Jbc may die in a year but at least that lasts 4 hours before needing to be charged.

This little speaker packs quite a punch when it comes to sound quality. I was pleasantly surprised by the volume and clarity of music coming from this thing. The white LEDs make for a nice personal touch to give the speaker a little more appealing. The wireless party chain feature works well on this device as well, as I have a few compatible speakers and was able to verify that they connect and play with a synchronization I wouldn't have expected.

Setup was a breeze, as in it worked straight out of the box and paired with all of our phones - no issue. The small size and large sound make this great for hanging out in the park or back yard. I also combine this XB22 with my XB72 and XB31 as a sound system for my home theater using the wireless party chain mode and it's very nice and convenient to set up and store away again after.
