If you haven't tried it yet, please download the Sony | Music Center app. There you will find ways of not only boosting the bass, but an equalizer that allows you to further fine tune the sound to your liking.

We are sorry to hear that you're having a distorted issue and if the speaker barely connects with your TV. This is definitely not the listening experience we'd like you to have. Allow us to help and turn your experience around. Let's start first by troubleshooting the distorted sound by following some recommended steps below.
⦁ Check that both the speaker and the connected device are turned on.
⦁ Turn up the volume of the speaker and the connected device.
⦁ Check that the connected device is playing.
⦁ If you are connecting a computer to the speaker, make sure the audio output setting of the computer is set for a BLUETOOTH device.
⦁ Check that the speaker has established BLUETOOTH connection with the BLUETOOTH device.
⦁ Pair the speaker and the BLUETOOTH device again.
⦁ If the connected device has an equalizer function, set it to off.
⦁ Keep the speaker away from a microwave oven, Wi-Fi®️, etc.
⦁ Bring the BLUETOOTH device closer to the speaker. If there is any obstacle between the speaker and the BLUETOOTH device, move it out of the way.

You wouldn't believe you're getting this much sound for $100 but you are. my first goal is to go out and buy a second one so I can pair them together for left right stereo. I hope my neighbors don't mind.

For the size & money this speaker sounds amazing. We put it on a little table in our upstairs hallway, and it fills up the entire house. I literally just saved $18,000-$20,000 on a complete in-home sound system. Plus it is so small you can easily carry downstairs, outside, or anywhere. (Or just buy 2 or 3 since they are so reasonably priced.

Decent Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This speaker gets loud enough to use for a small gathering but the bass fails to deliver. At this price point I don't expect incredible bass, but if that's high on your value chain I would advise to spend a little extra and forego this. One other shortcoming of this device is the medium-low music fidelity. I normally consume music through high end headphones and speakers, so this is noticeable for me, but still tolerable and more than enough for the average ear. Thus, my application for this device is mostly to use for music when I'm out kayaking, camping, or at the park or beach. For those purposes, this is serving me well and the waterproofing has DEFINITELY been as advertised. It's a really rugged and well built speaker.

I was 100% wrong, Ok with that said here goes and it's pretty simple. The SRS-XB23 has nice sound I love bass however that's about all you get with this thing. I listen to jazz and you can hardly hear the highs because the bass is so rich and even using an equalizer the bass is still to rich. For me the SRS_X3 is perfect but of course SONY decides to discontinue them. Sad, sad, sad. Now I have to find another manufacturer. So disappointed.

While we're glad you love the sound and bass quality of the speaker, we regret to hear you're having an issue with the loud bass volume. The XB23 is specifically designed for audio clarity throughout its volume range. This is something our music loving customers appreciate most. That being said the XB23 also gets very loud for its size and audio precision.
We want to make sure you are getting the most out of your speaker. Please make sure you have downloaded the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine tune your XB43 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.
You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

Could've been a good speaker

I used it pretty consistently for the past 3 months. It would have gotten a five-star rating if the charging port didn't give out that quickly. It even sounded great until it ran out of it's last charge. After just over three months, this speaker absolutely refuses to charge for me. I have tried multiple different chargers and cords to no avail. It was sad spending 100 dollars on a speaker just to have it be utterly useless within three months. I would not recommend buying this if you are looking for a speaker to keep for a long time.

While we're glad you like the sound quality and portability, we're sorry to hear you're having issues charging your Bluetooth speaker after 3 months of use. This does not happen often and definitely not the buying experience that we want our customer to have.
If you haven't yet, to try and resolve this issue, charge your wireless speaker and check if the CHARGE indicator lights up. Make sure that the USB cable is connected securely to the speaker and the USB AC adaptor. OK, But Party Function Does Not Work

Fortunately, it is fairly simple to operate, as the “Anybody Can Understand This” large, unfolded page of wordless instructions are less than helpful. I got it paired with my computer and it demonstrated a good sound quality. it advertises “extra bass,” but I didn’t notice much bass sound. I tried to use the “Party Connect” function to connect the friend’s speaker with mine. It does not work. Pressing the Party button only disconnects the speaker from the bluetooth source—nothing else. It’s a nice unit, but hardly worth the price.

1. After connecting multiple speakers, perform the pairing procedure between a BLUETOOTH device and the speaker in which the(BLUETOOTH) indicator is flashing in blue.
You can also control sound settings with the Sony Music Center app, please ensure to download it.
