If you are having an issue with the sound quality, please try the different sound modes found in the Sony Music Center app to get the sound that you prefer. There is even an EQ in there—which can be customized to fine-tune your music to your liking. Bring the BLUETOOTH device closer to the speaker. If there is any obstacle between the speaker and the BLUETOOTH device, move it out of the way. Also, test this with a different source to confirm the issue. Punchy Little Speaker

At times, the bass drowns out other frequencies, so some of the mid and high sounds aren't as sharp. But if you are looking for something to play fun, punchy music on the go, this is definitely a buy. It's fairly portable, not the smallest bluetooth speaker, but the slimness of it makes it pretty easy to pack away. The battery life seems good - played it for 5 hours straight at a pretty loud volume, and then continued playing another couple hours the next day without having to charge it. It also has a party mode where you can pair it with other Sony speakers, but I don't have anything compatible so I can't comment on that. I was also able to test out the waterproofing a bit, as I let it play in the rain, and I haven't noticed any issues. The only thing that worries me a bit is that the woofers on the top and bottom (where all that punchy bass comes from) are exposed. They seem pretty sturdy, but my kids like to touch them, especially when the music is making them vibrate, and I worry something could accidentally poke them and cause damage. It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to just put a speaker grill on the ends.
