Very nice! We're glad you like the sound quality of the speaker. . The SRS-XB23 has undergone extensive shock testing to make sure it can withstand the inevitable knocks, bumps and scrapes that come with everyday use. Even if you drop it, the SRS-XB23 will keep on working. It also has an IP67 rating which makes the speaker dustproof, waterproof, rustproof and washable . Thank you for choosing Sony!

There is good news however!
Download the Sony Music Center app, and you can actually fine tune the sound of your XB23 to your liking. There is a built in EQ that has 20 points of control for Bass, Midrange, and Treble. You can also change the speaker set up from Mono to Stereo to suit your needs.

|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony did a pretty good job with this speaker overall, only really lacking a few features like voice assistant. Overall for its size and portability both the battery life and sound level I was fairly impressed with. I have been using this speaker out in the garage when working on cars, on the back porch when grilling out, and around the pool. At max volume, with "Bass boost" enabled, the longest single span I have ran this speaker is about 6 hours and it still had battery power left. I haven't figured out a really good way to actually get an indication of battery life, neither on the speaker itself or the app, but I didn't really find that to be an inconvenience. Sound level wise it is pretty good and I didn't notice any distortion at max volume. This single speaker isn't going to make you feel like your at the pool at the MGM Grand in Vegas, but it was more than adequate for me in the environments I was using it. Through the app there are some real basic equilizer settings and a few other options you can change like bass boost and "party" mode. Party mode is a neat feature if you own other sony speakers, you can link multiple speakers together. This speaker does not have any sort of voice assistant technology. Connects via blutooth, no wifi playback ability. I didn't find that to be much of an issue, this is obviously intended to be a more portable/mobile option to take with you where there might not be any wifi. Overall the speaker delivers good sound quality, reasonably loud sound level for its size, and durability being water and dust proof. Works well for me, im glad I got it.
