So far I am enjoying the speaker very much. It has very good sound with clear treble and good bass. The Sony app used to control the speaker is also very good and allows you to do whatever you need to from volume control to changing the Lighting Display. I also like how the unit tells you the battery level using Voice.

I went to buy a $50-$100 wireless speaker at best buy. But after hearing the output of this sony, I was blown away. I needed it for an audience of up to 100 people and this speaker delivers in volume and clarity. Well worth the extra $$$

Very good quality sound coming from this Sony Bluetooth speaker. Portable convenience to move around the house, outside patio or to the pool. Was recommended to us by a neighbor and we are definitely happy with our purchase,

Speaker works great on every device I've used it with and keeps the kids entertained with the flashing lights, but the party booster is unreliable when the device is struck and if the volume on the music is turned up you can't hear the party booster sounds as they can't be individually adjusted.

One of the best portable speakers I have owned. Great bass and high ends make for overall high quality sound. Lights on it are fun for the kids to have a dance party in the dark as well.

Great little speaker, sounds great in even large spaces. Bass is very low and and crisp. Light sequence feature is a nice bonus.

This speaker is amazing. It stays connected up to 35 feet away and it really fills the whole room with sound and has a surprising amount of bass for the size speaker it is. Thanks Sony for a great product!

This speaker is impresssive all around. Sound quality is excellent and the light show that comes with it is a fun feature. Glad I went outside my comfort zone to try a different brand of speaker. Worth it!

I bought this speaker to bring on my trip to Bali, and it was a success while at the pool and the beach , for the size of it . It is super lond with great bass . The lights on them when music plays was a plus for me

I love my new portable Sony speake. I have it connected to my Dot. Because it can be used wirelessly,I can move it to any room I'm in and even take it outside when I'm lounging around my pool. It has great sound.

Without doubt this Is the best Bluetooth speaker I’ve own, Sony makes really good quality stuff at a good price, sound quality is awesome for the size, the bass is really good and voices are clear.

My son bought this for me to use in my home office and it was a super quick setup. Great sound and easy to enhance what I listen to on my laptop and with the Bluetooth feature, no cords to plug in!

The speaker definitely is worth the money. Great sound, great acoustics, and the light effects are very cool. And to top it off it’s waterproof. My wife and I are very happy with this Sony speaker!

Perfect size for portability. Great sound but maybe too much for a dorm room. I am sure my son and his buddies thinks it is just right though!

This is definitely an improvement from last years model. It still has good bass but it doesn’t drown out the sound in low volume. Also it’s waterproof! I’ve taken it to the lake a few times

Great wireless speaker. Easy to connect to Bluetooth and to travel with. Audio is clear with great bass. You can also turn the lights off if you don’t want them on. Highly recommended!

This is a excellent speaker and sounds amazing!! It even has the option to put extra bass on or not! And the lights make it fun for any party or just hanging around the house!

I’ve been using this speaker for about a week now and am very happy with everything about it! The Sony bluetooth wireless speaker sounds great and is pretty fun too! I love the sleek sporty design, the lights, the unique and fun Party Booster feature and of course the sound quality with an extra bass option! If you are a fan of music with a lot of bass you will not be disappointed. The Sony XB31 offers highs mids, clear sound and a lot of bass for such a small portable speaker. Low frequencies do sometimes sound less clear with the extra bass on but it’s easily remedied by changing the sound mode. You can really feel the sound coming out of the speakers as you hold it or have it in front of you. The speaker works awesome as a stand alone unit but it’s advertised as a party speaker, meant to be taken out and about with you to parties and get togethers with friends. You can pair up to one hundred speakers, if you ever have the chance to do so, but even just a few together is probably really cool. I hope to get a few more units myself so that I can have them in various rooms of my house. I’m also going to recommend it to friends so that we can pair them at our next BBQ! The Party Boost feature is a really cool addition that adds a little extra fun to the listening experience. Party Boost can be turned off/on using the app or you can hold the volume up and volume down buttons on the speaker for three seconds until you see the power light blink. Party Boost allows you to choose from a few different preset sounds that will play from five sides of the speaker as you hit them. Each side you hit will play a different sound and activate a different LED lighting effect. The sides are pressure sensitive so a softer tap will play a softer sound a harder hit will play a louder sound. The feature is really fun to have if you’re with friends or if you’re just bored listening to music and have idle hands. I probably won’t use it a whole lot but just having it available is really cool and gives me something to show off to friends. To access the settings and most of the features, including the different light modes, you will need to install the Sony Music Center app. The app offers different sound modes including a preset “Clear Audio+” recommended setting, which is the default setting and uses the Extra Bass mode. There is also a Live Sound and Standard mode. The Live Sound mode fills the room with sound for a more 3D experience and is my favorite setting so-far. You also have the ability to customize the Bass/Mid/Tre. The Extra Bass feature can be turned on/off using the app or by pressing the button the rear of the speaker. The back panel can be accessed by flipping a silicone waterproof lid. There is a micro USB input for easy charging and also a DC out USB that allows the speaker to double as a power bank for charging your phone. There is an audio in port and three buttons for turning off/on the lights, battery level readings, adding a speaker and activating the wireless party chain for multiple Sony speakers. The battery life has been good for me so-far. Sony says it should last twenty four hours with the lights off. Based on my experience I would expect to get about 5-8 hours with the lights, Extra Bass and Party Boost on. I really am very happy with this speaker and will most likely buy more as well as recommend it to friends. The IP67 rating, the washable fabric design, the extra bass, awesome sound, ability to chain with other speakers, the lights and the Party Boost feature all make this speaker a great buy!

This Sony speaker is so good that we bought more for our children. They really like theirs too. Wonderful sound and easy to set up. Easy to transport to a different location too.
