Customers are saying
Customers are pleased with the SRS-XB32 Portable Bluetooth Speaker's exceptional sound quality, impressive battery life, and powerful bass. Many also appreciate its ease of use, attractive lights, and convenient size. While some found the weight a bit substantial and expressed a preference for a different charging port, the positive feedback on sound and battery life outweighs these minor concerns. The speaker's waterproof design is also a frequently praised feature.

Portable Speaker
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We listen to a lot of music on our iPhones and this speaker is very portable and has good sound. I like the bass that it brings out in the music. Don’t need the flashing disco lights. Turned those off from the start.

Love it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So easy to use. Automatically linked to my iPhone 8plus. I love that it lights up at night and the sound is really good compared to other brands my friends have. Love it, great to have music in the background with no plugs around the pool, outdoor dinners and evenings around the fire pit.

Fun Speaker with Great Sound
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great little speaker with awesome sound. Portable, easy to use and at a good price. Every now and then the BlueTooth disconnects or has trouble, but it may be due to multiple phones connecting to it. The noise machine is fun, but not easy to turn on. Sony support was very helpful when the speaker wouldn't charge to 100% and helped me fix it instantly.

Sony Portable Bluetooth speaker is a HIT!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one for me and one for my young adult daughter. We both LOVE our Sony SRS XB32 Portable Bluetooth speaker. Neither of us use the revolving light feature, which can be shut off with a switch. The sound is great for both inside and outdoor use. Family and friends have sought out and bought the same device after seeing and listening to ours. I bought mine after seeing and listening to my sisters while at an outdoor event. My daughter has used hers at work (bar-eatery facility) when the DJ failed to show up one evening - her boss and many customers raved about the device and couldn't believe it wasn't a larger sound system.

Excellent Bluetooth Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony's 'new' SRS-XB32 is really just a cosmetically redesigned (minimally) SRS-XB31 that was released in 2018. That being said, that speaker was fantastic and so is the XB32. The only difference is instead of being completely covered in a unique speaker mesh like the XB31, the XB32 is covered mostly in a rubberized plastic covering which has a nice feel with the exception of the speaker front which is covered in a unique speaker mesh. Additionally, the XB32 light bars join on each side while the XB31 didn't meet until essentially the back side of the speaker. Which is better will be highly subjective to each user. I tend to prefer the XB31 since that unique mesh covering has been with me to the beach, to the pool, camping, in countless hotel rooms, and stuffed in so many bags without so much as a scuff or snag. I fear the XB32 could be more susceptible to scuffing/scratching. As with any speaker, you all want to know about the sound. Sony has really done an excellent job with the XB32. I cannot tell any difference between it and the XB31, but both are very high quality. Mids and highs I would rate it ever so slightly below the Bose Soundlink Mini, but above in base--especially in that punchy base. Bass is good for a speaker of this size, but obviously a bigger speaker will likely provide a bigger bass. The party chain feature is actually impressive which allows you connect to compatible Sony speakers so you can create a synchronized set of speakers whether. Once paired, lights and sounds were synchronized and really expanded your listening experience. The party booster feature lacks any meaningful use to me. Tap (or beat) the speaker to produce a varying drum/beat sound. Again, not sure why you'd want this? The light bar is an area where I really feel like this speaker shines. If you want to set the mood or just add a little more ambiance, these lights will do it. They accurately change to the beats of the music and know when more subtle changes are appropriate and when more visually sharp changes are needed. If you don't want the lights, you can easily switch them off via the Sony Music Center app. I wish they had a way to control the lights on the speaker itself. BUT, I've found I really don't adjust the lighting effects that often. Battery life on the XB32 is an amazing 24 hours which is just mind boggling given the sound of this speaker. Obviously, lights and other features will reduce this time. I can tell you, I've never run the battery down in a single session. It has lasted me 4-5 days at the beach with 4-6 hours of use each day. When you need to recharge, just use the included micro USB cable and charge again. The XB32 also provides a USB charging port should your cell phone need a quick boost while out at the pool/beach. I haven't needed to use this, but it is nice to know it is available. In all, this is an excellent speaker that I find is an INCREDIBLE bargain at $149.99. Great lighting that will memorize you. Sounds that will pump you up. Expandability that will keep your party flowing inside and out. Pros: -Sound -Lighting -Design -Battery life Cons: -Lack of lighting controls directly on speaker

Great portable speaker
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the speaker as a gap stop until I could afford a surround system. It provides big sound from a small speaker. App control is easy enabing the user to control bass and mix the levels. Fun sound effects too. Long lasting battery life on a charge.

Great little speaker!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this to accompany the bigger version I have. Love that this has the ability to link with other Sony speakers, just wish it wasn’t limited to only linking to Sony speakers made that year. Got a good deal on it though and the sound quality is amazing, especially for how small it is. Great features to adjust the sound output via the Sony app.

Love It
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy this speaker. It is so portable. I bring it to my grandchildren's home and we have wonderful dance parties. The many different light settings are fine but frankly, we do not use that feature and safe on the long lasting battery.

Sleek and Powerful
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bluetooth speakers are a dime a dozen nowadays. It is difficult for companies to really differentiate their products. There's lots of good ones out there, even budget ones. For me, I need a speaker with a long battery life, that's loud and preferably waterproof, and a reliable connection. This Sony XB32 fits that bill perfectly. In relation to its size, it's one of the best speakers you can get, the only minor drawback is no battery life indicator and no USB-C charging (charges micro-USB) EASE OF USE Sony has this down pat (other companies do too). But the XB32 is dead simple to use. The buttons on it are well laid out (although I wish they stood out a little better) and responsive. After charging it initially, you simply turn it on and it goes into pairing mode. If you want to switch phones from which you're playing music on, you hit the Bluetooth button and it goes into pairing mode (or if you connected multiple devices, it cycles through). Bottom line is, it's easy to figure out and use. It's very intuitive. SOUND The sound is amazing. It has rich bass and balanced sound. In my opinion, and I'm no audiophile, the sound is better than bigger speakers from other companies. And it's pretty amazing how loud it gets. It's not going to be the best option for a room full of people in a house, but if you're working in the garage, or out in the yard (or home by yourself) you will not need louder volumes than this baby can put out. RELIABILITY AND DURABILITY This is a big one for me. If I'm out doing yard work or in the garage working on a project, I generally keep my phone in my pocket. Sometimes I walk far away from the speaker and yet, I've never had a drop out or even a skip. My PG PK7 drops out if I'm near the speaker but crouched down with the phone in my pocket (I guess blocking the signal with my body) it skips out. Not with the XB32. Unless I walk 100 feet away, it won't skip out. I've always found Sony speakers to have reliable connections. The XB32 is no different. Also, this thing is built like a tank. While it won't play music in the water, you can submerge it and dry it off no problem. And you don't have to worry about dust and dirt. Although the fabric speaker grill is a bit tough to get dirt out (when it gets wedged in there) you can still clean it and have it looking like new. It can also sustain drops. I dropped mine on the garage floor and it didn't look any worse for the wear. No dents, nothing. And it kept on playing music. BATTERY LIFE It's rated for 24 hours without the lights and 14 with. Battery life is not a problem. So long as you haven't gone weeks without charging it, you can take it to a party or tailgate without fear of it dying before you're done using it. I generally keep it in my garage and use it almost daily for an hour here and there. I've gone a week and a half with this intermittent use before having to charge it. FEATURES I guess one of the ways to differentiate yourself in a crowded market is to make this speaker waterproof and put in party lights. Personally, I like the lights, they pulse with the music. But you can turn them off if you'd like. You can squeeze out a lot more battery without the lights, but again, I like them. You can download an app to control the lights, but I don't care that much. I'm fine with the standard pulsing lights. I also like the inclusion of a USB port to charge your phone. I've never used it, mostly because I've used my XB 32 at home, but it is nice feature to have just in case. You can also daisy chain Sony speakers to create stereo sound. I don't know if I'd buy two for that reason, but if you know someone that has one it's a nice feature and really does provide even better sound. (I've hooked the XB32 up to the larger XB31). CONCLUSION You can get cheaper options, but honestly, there's a lot of value for your money. I am a Sony guy so maybe I'm a little biased, but I've owned several Sony Bluetooth speakers and they've always been my favorite, mostly in part to their great sound and reliability. If I could change one thing, it would be the ability to charge over USB C since that's what my phone uses, but Sony has been notoriously slow in adopting USB C charging to their products. Even if the party lights aren't your thing, there's plenty to like with this speaker. I highly recommend it.

Best compact Bluetooth speaker ever.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought two speakers as Christmas gifts. Both sound great and better than most larger and more expensive speakers. Charge lasts a long time. Even better, the speakers were on sale at Best Buy AFTER Black Friday and BEFORE Christmas. Would buy again.
