The SRS-XB32 has 2 sound modes, the EXTRA BASS feature that enhances every beat, and the LIVE SOUND mode which creates a three-dimensional sound experience (think outdoor live concert). You can toggle those with the button on top of the XB32. If you use the Sony Music Center App, you will find even more sound adjustments for tuning the speakers to your liking. I also recommend placing the 2 paired speakers into “stereo” mode for true left/right channel separation. Thank you for choosing SONY. ~Earl

Sound is almost great...just a little distortion on the highs. Balanced as Sony so often does with boosted base. Negative is those little feet on the bottom can pull out, and I think would allow water inside the housing. But they are more flat than the XB22 model - 1 size down, and so far have stayed intact all around the apartment and in the car. The light show is pointless but pretty and fun. 'Little expensive. But I enjoy all my streamed music much more through this than off the phone speaker.
