The SRS-XB32 has 2 sound modes, the EXTRA BASS feature that enhances every beat, and the LIVE SOUND mode which creates a three-dimensional sound experience (think outdoor live concert). You can toggle those with the LIVE button on top of the XB32. If you use the Sony Music Center App, you will find even more sound adjustments for tuning the speakers to your liking. There are just a few small issues that detract from a 5-star rating. The most important is that there is no way to reduce the overwhelming bass or to boost the mid-range and treble; that would help to make the unit reach a 5-star rating. Of much lesser import is the cheap looking flashing lights which seem to flash with no relation to the music and the problem wIth answering phone calls on a connected iPhone which keeps switching to calls being played over the speaker. Overall, though, the speaker is definitely worth consideration.
