|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Sony XB32 is an iterative update to a tried and true Bluetooth speaker that allows you to play music on the go. There's no "Smart" capabilities here, just connect directly with your phone and you're on your way playing music directly to the XB32. There's a few key features of the XB32 that separate it from cheaper options: 1) Excellent battery life. Sony says up to 24 hours and 14 with Extra Bass which is believable since I haven't had to charge mine yet. 2) Water Resistant. Its not officially water proof but the IP67 rating is the same as active lifestyle products that can get wet, even submerged in water for brief periods of time. We use ours around the shower, on the deck, in the canoe/boat and at the beach without fear of it getting damaged. 3) Portable. Its heavy, due to the battery, but it is tiny and fits easily in a bag, trunk, etc. 4) Has some cool lighting features. It is somewhat useful in providing lighting at night but overall its kinda gimmicky I'm not a fan of the Fiestable app, which just seems to control the lighting. Would really love a true Smart integration instead. Overall this is a solid product from Sony but it lacks some of the Smart features that would really take it to the next level of usefulness. As it is now, its an excellent speaker for those on the go. I personally thought the bass was a little too pronounced with the Extra Bass function but it still sounds good for such a small portable speaker.

Posted .Hi Livingmybestlife, we're glad your son loves his XB32! You may have downloaded the Sony Music Center App and Fiestable app already, but if not, we highly recommend it. With the app you will find sound adjustments for tuning the speakers to your liking and tons of color options for the lights. Easy to set up and use with my Ipad

It is a great unit for sitting on the patio listening to music.
