Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the SRS-XB32 Portable Bluetooth Speaker's exceptional sound quality, impressive battery life, and powerful bass. Many also appreciate its ease of use, attractive lights, and convenient size. While some found the weight a bit substantial and expressed a preference for a different charging port, the positive feedback on sound and battery life outweighs these minor concerns. The speaker's waterproof design is also a frequently praised feature.

Speaker is very average, doesn’t get very loud, but ok for my son to use outside or in his room.

Sony XB32 EXTRA BASS Portable Speaker

So I've been trying out the new Sony XB32 EXTRA BASS portable speaker over the last week and putting it through its paces. Sony has done it again with one of its most popular bluetooth speakers. This little guy is amazing. The new updated version features a redesigned lightline that wraps around to the back. Sound quality is pure bliss. The features are all the same as the previous models. The shape is tweaked just a little to more rounded edges than the previous model. Connecting via bluetooth is pretty standard and it connects quickly once in pairing mode with your mobile devices and/or TV. The Live feature makes it sound as though you're at a concert. One of my favorite features is using it as a speakerphone to receive calls while cleaning around the house. You can connect up to 10 other Sony speakers via the Party Chain feature and create the ultimate party (just don't disturb your neighbors, lol). Changing of the lights can be done via the companion Music Center app and Fiestable apps downloadable from the App Store for iPhone or Google Play store for Android users. It comes with the usual standard documentation as well as a micro USB cable to charge the speaker. However it does not come with a charging block. But most people have extra charging blocks around the house.

The Sony XB32 EXTRA BASS Portable BLUETOOTH Speaker (Black) is a well designed and engineered device. The texture is impressive as it has the feel of waterproof fabric which turns out to be dustproof as well. It also has a flashing light function to enhance the music experience. Syncing was as simple as pressing the power/ pairing button for three seconds to initiate the pairing process and then press SRS-XB32 on the screen of my android device to complete the pairing. I also connected the Sony Portable Wireless BLUETOOTH® Speaker SRS-XB32 (Black) to the Sony Music Center app that gives more control over the speaker’s total functionality. Pressing the play/pause button two times advances the playlist, while pressing the play/pause button three times plays the previous track. The volume is “boom box” loud and it is loud enough to provide a decent volume to fill an average sized room with a pure clear and rich sound quality of whatever type of audio you are listening. There is also a way to connect multiple Sony Portable Wireless BLUETOOTH® SRS-XB32 (Black) Speakers together to place them over a wide area, which is a dynamic way to have surround sound. I enjoy using my Sony Portable Wireless BLUETOOTH® Speaker SRS-XB32 (Black).

I purchased the SRS-XB 41 a few months ago because they are suppose to connect like the Sonos. A few days ago I purchased the SRS-XB 32. They will not connect unless you put them in party chain mode. They have to be the same model to connect with Bluetooth.

I’m generally a Sony fan. But this one was a disappointment and I ended up returning it. The sound quality was sub par, weak bass tone and just doesn’t fill a room. And the blinking LEDs I think also turned me off - it made the speaker seem cheap, as in not a “serious” speaker, if that makes sense.

Hi Dante, We are truly sorry to hear that you had returned your SONY unit. We do have the EXTRA BASS feature for more bass on the XB32 to enhance the bass experience, though depending on the music, the EXTRA BASS effects may not be so noticeable. The lighting function can also be set to on/off depending on your preference, or modified in the Sony Music Center app , where can choose various lighting modes while you place your music. Sony takes into consideration all feedback to improve the performance and quality of our products and services. We're always looking to make Sony better. If there is anything else we can share to make a future experience with a Sony speaker better, please reach out. Thanks! ~Earl Sony_US

I love the speaker but for some reason, the volume decreases SIGNIFICANTLY after a couple of hours of use. The battery is still charged over 50% and volume still decreases. I have tried turning it on and off and still does it within couple minutes. I've had it for almost a year

Excellent Sound In A Small Package

The Sony XB-32 is an excellent sounding smaller Bluetooth speaker. Don't let the size fool you, this speaker can get really loud! The "XB" stands for extra bass and this speaker delivers on that big time. However, unlike a lot of other extra bass speakers this one does not sacrifice the sound quality of the mids and highs. Vocals are quite clear at all volume levels. You can tweak the sound to your personal preference via the Sony Music Center app (for Android or iOS) and it has a fairly easy to use interface. You'll use the app to also control the onboard lights, or to turn them off like I have. So far all genres of music sound good on this speaker. I've got it setup in my bedroom and it does an outstanding job of filling the rooms with pleasant sound. The build quality is the typical Sony one of been well above average. the body has a soft plastic feel with a fabric grill cover. As an added bonus you can use the built in full sized USB port to charge your phone. My only complaint is a minor one. This is 2019 and the XB-32 charges via micro-USB instead of USB-C. If you're looking for a smaller portable speaker with some punch this one will serve you well.

Unless the speaker is charged over 50% you can’t even hear it when the volume is all the way up. Pretty much a great light show

I purchased this Sony SRS XB32 portable Bluetooth Speaker in Blue because I like the flashy lights and look of it. It worked fine for weeks while I have it in the house playing it. I took it to my pool and the volume would just get low. I thought maybe it was my phone so we hooked it up to my iPad the volume went up for 1 second and then it went low to you could barely hear it. A friend of mine had to take out their portable speaker as you could not hear mine at all. I will be taking it back and requesting a full refund.

Hi cpeters1970, we're sorry to hear that you have an issue with your SONY unit. This speaker is designed to reduce the maximum volume to about half when the remaining built-in battery power becomes less than 10% in order to protect the circuit due to extreme voltage or current fluctuation by using at a loud volume. You may follow this link to better isolate and fix the issue:  https://helpguide.sony.net/speaker/srs-xb32/v1/en/contents/TP0002240447.html?search=low%20sound
