Customers are saying

Customers are pleased with the SRS-XB32 Portable Bluetooth Speaker's exceptional sound quality, impressive battery life, and powerful bass. Many also appreciate its ease of use, attractive lights, and convenient size. While some found the weight a bit substantial and expressed a preference for a different charging port, the positive feedback on sound and battery life outweighs these minor concerns. The speaker's waterproof design is also a frequently praised feature.

bought this to accompany my other similar sony speaker for the party mode option for a grad party. the party mode is crazy hard to figure out and it took us over an hour to figure it out. didn't matter as it kept failing during the party and had to abandon the plan. don't buy for the party option!

Where do I begin? From the moment I pulled out the Sony XB32 Speaker from the packaging and turned it on, the lights alone are gorgeous. The black speaker is juxtaposed with a vibrant led color changing design. Making it a conversation piece before it even drops a beat. The sound quality and effect are unparalleled, I have never heard any speaker let alone a wireless Bluetooth speaker that I can hold in one hand that sounds as crisp, and consistent as this little guy. The battery life is over 24 hours of continuous play, to allow you to keep the beats going all day and night! One of my favorite features which is surprisingly very helpful is the USB charging port, so if your phone is dying you don't have to worry because you can charge your phone as well. This speaker is highly recommended from me and I don't have any complaints!

The battery does not last long at all. Decent sound have another Sony small speaker that sounds way better and the battery last way long than this one. Don’t bother wasting your money on this speaker.

I’m not sure if it’s going to let me give 0 stars or not but I would if i could. I bought this on sale in December 2020 as a Christmas present for my son. He’s only used it around the house. By Jan 16, it wouldn’t charge over 20% so it’s now about as loud as the phone speaker. I’m on my way into Best Buy Newark, de to try to return it, that’s where I purchased it. Not sure they will, apparently even though it was Christmas & COVID they didn’t extend any return times, it almost seems like they shortened the return time. We’ll see what they say.

If you’re already familiar with the previous models of this line then you will already know what you’re getting with this upgrade. Still has more than adequate sound. Still water and dust proof. The lights are a little different but still has the same functions and options via the app. You can now charge your devices using the speaker with its USB port (such as your phone). Overall this is still a very good option for your wireless Bluetooth speaker needs. As I always like to point out I’m no audiophile so if you’re looking for super detailed reviews that will address those concerns I’m sure plenty will be posted. But if you’re like most users and just want something that meets your needs and sounds good doing so...definitely check this out.

Last years XB31 stood head and shoulders of the pack and the XB32 improves again in almost every way. You get the same pairing up to 100 devices with this and the same party tricks where you can hit the speaker to make drum sound effects. This year you get a new design that isnt all fabric, it has the rubberized plastic on the body and feels like it will last longer because of it. They have also redesigned the light strips with a tri light effect on the sides of the speaker. They have moved to Sony branding to the top side of the speaker also. One strange and poor decision by Sony was to continue the use of micro USB to charge the device, its 2019 Sony, your other devices are USB C equipped, removed one star for this. The sound is killer on this and has even more bass than last year booming XB31. The sound isnt muddied and sound great with all genres of music. Basically the best just got better and at this price you wont find better

Well I tried it out by the pool that just got a new paint job, still chilly outside but the unit survived a submersion for a few minutes, sound could still be heard from it. The light show is bright and fantastic especially if used with the Sony Fiestable app. The bass is off the chart, Bluetooth range is very good but pairing and volume control is a bit problematic. When I pair with my desktop, the desktop volume is cranked to 100 but sound is loud but not loud enough until I use the volume controls on the unit itself. Not a deal breaker but I rather have full volume control from the connected device than from speaker. Above average sound quality, off the chart bass and fantastic waterproof resistance.

BIG SOUND IN A LITTLE PACKAGE

Sound diminishes outside, especially Bass, but this little powerhouse has a great sound outside, plenty loud enough, and the Bass is fantastic. We didn't give it 5 stars because it was a little difficult to set up initially but after that it's easy and quick. And a full charge will only last a couple of hours playing it loud outside. But overall this is a great sounding blue tooth speaker in a small package that's quick and easy to use at an affordable price, especially considering it carries the "Sony" brand name and therefore should last a long time without any problems.

    Sony sound meets Sony Style

Tl;dr If you like Sony’s signature “U” shaped sound curve, then you’ll enjoy this speaker with its special effects and extended battery life. Balance believers should give it the boot. My first impression of Sony’s XB32 Bluetooth speaker was to wonder where I got the light show? It’s bright and flashy at all times. Unfortunately, so is the sound. The speaker delivers on some decent bass, along with having a flashy high range. It’s the middle notes which get a little muddy. While there’s an app you can use to control the lights, “Live” mode, and some other features, adjustments to EQ did not create any better balance in the output. The speaker paired quickly and easily with my Samsung phone. Output volume goes from office quiet to backyard bawler based on your needs. It feels solidly made and has flexibility to connect with a headphone cable (not included) if wireless isn’t your thing. While Sony has added some voice commands to their app, this is not a “smart” speaker which plays on its own. You’ll need a source (phone or Dot) to have the speaker deliver the decibels. Sony has put considerable thought and engineering into making their 13 hour battery powered device into a pretty “party” player. There’s even a mode you can use to turn it into a noisemaker when you hit it in just the right way. They envision groups of people carrying the speakers around, connected to each other through Sony’s app. While this might sound like fun in a lab, I couldn’t get the app to connect two current model speakers together (XB32 and GTK-PG10). In fact, I wasn’t even able to use my phone’s built in dual output mode using two of Sony’s Bluetooth speakers. One speaker would disconnect each time I added a new one. I needed to bring in my Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 to use dual output. In some ways, I was glad I did, as I could clearly hear the difference in the two speakers. It’s a little pricier than the Sony speaker, but has a more neutral sound profile (my preference). Ultimate Ears focused on sound, while Sony focused on style. For high energy pop music, this is a spry sounder. Anything else and you’ll likely be disappointed.
