It’ sounds decent and when the battery is dying the sound lowers. I was very disappointed & will be returning

It charges pretty fast pretty good size without being too overbearing and thumps like crazy. Love it and want a second one to sync.

Sound comes clearly from all corners of the speaker, and I love the charging port for my phone. Battery life bar none is the longest lasting of any speaker I own!

To get the sound that you prefer, please try the different sound modes found in the Sony Music Center app. There is even an EQ in there—which can be customized to fine-tune your music to your liking. They are light weight and pack some big sound. Super easy to connect to. This year they seem to have redesigned them a bit. More rounded shape and has some more rubber housing to it which I like. The lighting they come with I could do without. I'm not a big fan of that feature but I guess it does look pretty in the dark. I dont like the charger though, i prefer them to have a way to plug the charger right into the wall. I dont like having to use one of my blocks to charge it.

The additions are the more reliable bluetooth pairing, Salt water resistant, shock proof. Other than that it sounds about the same and you should look for deals on the xb31 if your looking to save $$. Personally I like the addition of the water/dust resistance since I live in Florida it fits our environment better. Also when the kids take it outside knowing it is shock proof is lore comforting. Cons are that the pairing of multiple speakers does not work unless you make a group in the sony app. Also when paired with a bigger or smaller speaker the sound is very different so only recommended for pairing to the same size speakers. Also would be nice to finally add Usb-C charging vs micro usb.

Went to play a song through Spotify, and it cuts in out and out of the song for the first 10-30 seconds of EVERY song that is picked, and that is with the speaker sitting inches away from the iPad it’s connected to. Plays songs fine once it’s about halfway through the song. But because of the way it cuts in and out on EVERY new song that is played makes it basically unusable. Hoping this is a random fluke, and will try to exchange it one time. Otherwise I guess I’ll spend the extra money and upgrade to a JBL speaker. VERY disappointed with this speaker.
