The SRS-XB33 combines a tough, durable design with long battery life, deep bass sound, and flashing lights. Giving you the freedom to party wherever, whenever. If you haven't yet, downloading the Music Center app allows you to select your favorite playlists, cue the next song, or change lighting patterns and sound modes of the unit- this will surely enhance your listening experience.

Unfortunately, when I set up the speaker, it sounded very weak and tin-y without a lot of depth to the sound. Returned it and bought a JBL... much better.

We are so sorry to hear about your experience with the XB33 and that it needs to be returned. The XB33 was designed to be a very balanced speaker with a focus on both vocal clarity & the Extra Bass you know and love as a Sony customer.
To get the most out of this speaker, we recommend downloading the Sony Music Center app. There you will find all sorts of tools to fine-tune your XB33 and maximize the volume to your liking. There is even an EQ.
Please make sure as well you fully charge the speaker, especially after it has gone below 10%, and hit the auto volume limiter (designed to keep your speaker battery healthy & safe).
Then Increase the volume level of the wireless speaker and source devices. You may also find different devices will perform better than others, as will different apps due to different types of audio compression and transmission.

It was easy to connect to my Phone and play music from there. It last a long time on a charge. I love the lights on the speaker changing with the music. I have not seen a better speaker to use by the pool.

My testing included both phone calls and music. Phone calls were fine for both parties. I wouldn't normally use this for phone calls unless I was cooking and needed hands free and louder volume. Music quality was great. It might lose quality at very high volumes but I tested at normal listening / dancing levels. The bass and sound quality were excellent. Battery life is great and has lasted over 20 hours so far. Range was also excellent. There can be certain interference in and around buildings. Easily works for 70 feet in a direct line. Highly recommended.

They nailed the design this time. It looks amazing. The light show is the same as all the previous generations. They have finally switched to USB-C charging, but have removed the AUX input. The party chain option is also no longer available with this version. The sound is the most disappointing part. It just doesn't sound good. Especially when compared to the previous models. This speakers is physically bigger than the previous versions, yet has the least amount of sound coming out of it, and the sound that does come out is... meh. Tweaking the EQ helps a bit, but overall volume is lacking. Likes: 1.) Love the new design, stylish 2.) Finally USB-C charging Dislikes: 1.) Overall sound and volume 2.) No AUX 3.) Option for linking speakers is not available for this model

• Place the source device within 1 meter (3 feet) of the Bluetooth speaker.
• Check that the BLUETOOTH device is turned on and the BLUETOOTH function is activated on the device.
1. Turn the speaker on.
If you turn on the speaker for the first time, the (BLUETOOTH) indicator starts double flashing and the speaker enters pairing mode.

2. Set the speaker to pairing mode.
To enter pairing mode, press the (BLUETOOTH) button until you hear the voice guidance (BLUETOOTH pairing) from the speaker and the (BLUETOOTH) indicator starts double flashing (pairing mode).
3. Pair your source device within 5 minutes.
